bolin is always comedic relief, I think he's a good character but he really isn't endearing to me because it's so rare for the writers to give him genuine moments of actual emotion. his anger, insecurities, romance,happiness etc etc... almost always have a comedic tone to them. not enough "balance" in his character

I don't know what lessons they were trying to teach in this episode lmao. In reality, people in Mako's position would've played both Korra and his girl. And people in Bolin's position would not forgive Korra or Mako since Korra knew what Bolin's intentions were, and Bolin already confided in Mako his intentions for Korra. Shit if anything Bolin could've snitched, and really blow it up for everyone.

when people fight and still stick with each other after their fight, their relationship goes stronger. it proves that mako and bolin will push through anything no matter what happens to them, and they wouldn't let a girl drive them apart as they are brothers. the same can be said as more team building for all 3 of them as they persevered through this. finally for korra individually, it showcased that she works well underpressure as well as having more room seeing how she was dancing across ring attacking while dodging, she's clutch when a situation is dire. at the end of the day korra proabably doesn't have much experience with love as she was isolated in the small water tribe for 17 years

I was always a Makorra girl but now I'm pissseeddd that Tahno and her didn't get even a chance lmao, it could have been a good addition to the story, especially considering Mako would be SO jealous of it 😂 So many missed chances for a decent pairing with Korra in this series. Her canon couple still bugs me to this day because it's so random.
