What? This doesn’t make much sense. Who only takes.

Mollywopper

stop being a bitch says lupa to the 12 year old

I VisiBomb I

The lion turtle didn't open his chakras, he gave him a new way to bend. any more than that is spoiler territory.

Spadez

Thank you for holding back, I haven't watched Korra or read the comics yet. I was waiting till the live action came out and just rewatch it all XD

Romang

Junior

Anonymous

Ep 18 is only up for $10 patrons, I think it's a mistake

The Zuko-Iroh reunion always makes me tear up ngl

Jason Serrano

"I've certainly ever used it to take a life" except for that vulture wasp that tried to take momo in the desert,

Lightning Strike Fitness

It was torture back then having to wait next week for the other part to air.

Shamar

“The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can touch the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginningless time, darkness thrives in the void, but always yields to purified light.”

godUsoland

We have to defeat the FATHERLORD, lol

Chris D. Jones

Could y’all tell the difference in iroh’s voice? Also did y’all notice all the times lion turtle lore was dropped nonchalantly throughout the show (mainly season 3)? I wanted to point them but didn’t want to spoil.

Noah Burke

Nah dude, it was the week of avatar. 10 new episodes in July 2008 ending with the 4 part finale on Saturday of that week

Pucki

i think it was mentioned but wasnt it mentioned in the library episode?

AlphaWolf64

Can we appreciate the fact that Bumi took back his entire city in less than 8 minutes

L

The lion turtle gave him the ability to take away bending. Hopefully you guys figure that out on the last part....

Joshua

Aang technically lied in this episode when he said he has never taken a life. He killed that wasp bird thing in the dessert when it took Momo and he was mad about Appa.

kurumi Tokisaki

Aang was searching through his past lives like browsing on the web for an article to prove his point

hurryupmode

The Lion Turtle is based on the World Turtle from Indo-Chinese mythology https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Turtle

Jackie

The design Lion Turtle face is base of the mystical Chinese guardian lions (you see him in Mulan): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_guardian_lions

Kelsey Brown

Why homegirl look like she was gonna fold you at 24:10? Lol

Reign

Lion turtles are the original benders and protectors of humanity they are literally what gave humans bending in the first place.

Zeus

Don't post spoilers man, they can figure it out like the rest of us did

Player456

Lol i will never understand anyone saying Aang just had to "quit being a little bitch" like it's just THAT simple for a 12 year old (physically and mentally) to kill someone, especially one that was raised with all the teachings and principles that Aang was. I appreciate Roshi for acknowledging that Aang just isn't gonna be that type of Avatar.

Lee

Aang's selfishness and childish attitude are the reason things cut so close when it came to finally facing the "Phoenix King". He's 12 and that's understandable. However, He's also very level headed and understanding for a 12 year old. Being able to understand and pass on teachings of empathy and forgiveness but can't fathom sacrificing his own beliefs when it comes to the far more important duty of protecting the world. He was extremely lucky that it worked out for him to meet the lion turtle. Fate was on his side during his time as the Avatar giving him the guidance he needed due to the choice he made. More-so than any Avatar before him. His selfishness is a very realistic flaw and just happened to be a very dangerous flaw given his circumstance. I like that they did that. But yes, He did need to "quit being a little bitch" because as Avatar Yangchen said. It wasn't his place to selfishly hold his beliefs while expecting a favorable outcome when his duty as Avatar is to set aside his wants for the well being of the world and the four nations. But, The Lion Turtle came in clutch giving him words of wisdom and bringing him to the battle field. Here we go for part 3 and 4!

Bumi uses rocks to break metal door Lupa: LoOkS LiKe hE cAn MeTaLbEnd I’m pretty sure Rob from RT TV is smarter than Lupa 💀

John

They all ways looking so distraught everytime Zuko gets shipped with Katara its the other way around for me lol

Anonymous

"I was never angry with you. I was sad, because you had lost your way". That is true, unconditional love from a parent. Still brings me to tears.

Awkwardz

God the zuko and iroh reunion gets me every damn time. Because that poor kid is so fucked up mentally. Like all those years he thought that his dad didn’t “love” him anymore and if he did something wrong he was met with extreme a cruel punishment. He was banished and burned. So to him that was a normal, even if he saw the flaws in it. Then he’s hesitation of actually seeing iroh because he thinks his uncle hates him and he’s going to get burned again as punishment, but instead he’s met with love and forgiveness!?! Like the shock in his face is so fucking heartbreaking because he was EXPECTING iroh to “punish” him in some way because that’s what his father AND nation taught him.

Issac

Aang saw the lion turtle in the library

camille

Especially because he intentionally treated Zuko as if he wan't his son (we find out in the arc w/ zuko's mom) so treating him like someone else's child and doting on Azula must have screwed up his mind too. Ozai probably had his mind set on passing the throne to Azula because he always thought Zuko was "weak"

Libby DVR

I am so mad at how many adult men call a 12 year old in a kid's show a bitch for being squeamish about murder.

CRuEL_WOrlD

If its for saving the fkn world from a genocide i think they have got a good point.

Ala’a Atari

Lol, actually Bumi didn't metal bend! Toph essentially discovered/founded the idea of metal bending. Bumi just used earth to pry open the coffin

Susana Canales

Do y’all realize that Bumi took back his city in 8 minutes? Lol I think that’s how long the eclipse lasts 😂

Master finesser

Come to think of it Aang technically is also a firebender so his fire must have been amped too

Susana Canales

Personally, I think a lot of people forget that he has no training as the avatar. The rest of them did. Yangchen especially was probably taught to put the world first and had her lifetime to learn that. Aang didn’t have that luxury. And honestly, I don’t think it was the best idea. Ozai doesn’t deserve to be a martyr and it would’ve been harder to establish peace.

jordy

Lol random but, am i the only one who peeped they drew Aang with shoes on at 13:47 and then all of a sudden no shoes? he didn't have shoes on before

TheFlowey27

Aang: I've only ever used violence for necessary defense, and I've certainly never used it to take a life! Is he not counting times he was in the avatar state? Because if he is counting them, thats some CAP

CJ Dennis

He didn't have much control in that state and we don't know if he killed anybody in that state.

Shawn Oxley

Aang: All life is sacred.. except for that one wasp in the desert when I lost Appa

Koria Hayes

Pretty sure it just got knocked out of the sky, like apps did with those other wasps except a little harder

Koria Hayes

This right here helps the legend of korra so much. The lion turtle was a special one, giving aang something that, previously, only other lion turtles could do. Wonder why he never gives, only takes……? O.o can’t elaborate with spoiling more
