Wednesdays are the best

This episode was lit glad you enjoyed, i believe it was the connection to the king that caused the tears :D

Shaw

I cried too. What heartless person could not feel something at that? Could you have imagined Meruem getting on his knees and requesting something from someone 10-15 episodes ago? This is just too good.

Kurumi

that end scene still gives me chills... he could've just folded them but nah in anime we go for them big flexes s/o to Nux

Ang

Pitou's reaction is a little bit of everything you said. Meruem cares for her so she cares for her, seeing Meruem sad/in pain makes her sad. Also the king telling her "Im counting on you" and trusting her with saving the most important person to him.

Devin B

I think that Pitou felt emotional because she felt that the King was genuinely relying on her to help him and for the guards being of use to the King is the highest honor.

K-RayTV

This episode is always so much to watch with the last episode setting the tone for this one and then this episode going SSS tier. Your reactions were pure and amazing! I felt myself holding my breathe for you in those intense moments. Um to answer your question Pitou was crying because the King said he was "counting on him" to heal Komugi. This is the first time that the King needed or requested help from his royal guard and this was such a huge task that Pitou felt grateful to be asked to offer himself in service to his King....and yes that is a he lol

K-RayTV

Great episode I have been waiting for you to react to this for awhile now as these two episodes alone are the ones that solidified this anime as my #1 favorite, the intensity of it, the God Tier Narrator, the fear of the unknown, the direction, etc everything was SSS Tier and the creator does the best to me at showing you that a battle or fight is more than just who is stronger than the other, this show really dives into the mental aspect of every battle, every move, every delay, etc. Like how Gon kept rushing towards Yupi and then Killua realizing it and being like how did he get to that thought so quickly and while the others were only a fraction later to come to that same thought it shows that that millisecond can be the reason for life and death. Great reaction great episode, great content, idk if you hear this enough but you are appreciated.

I mean, Pitou made a decapitated body functional again, so asking to pitou to heal her even if she was dead wouldn't be out of the question. Also if I believe she was crying cause she realized how much her king had changed, and that this was the final definitive proof of Pouf's worries.

The palace invasion is phenomenal. I know this said all the time with other series, but HxH truly just gets better and better each episode. I've watched, and read HxH god knows how many times, and I still get goosebumps every time I revisit the palace invasion.

Anthony Lujan

Yes we got him boys togashi gets another disciple yea trust us you ain't see nothing yet

Pedro

This episode makes you start to think about the things we have in common with those ants, that moment with Zeno/Netero and the king resumes everything. Do not let yourself go in that moment or your cause is lost, you are fighting for humanity so you should also carrie with you whats most important: respect for a life. What stood before then was a monster... but not in that moment.

More tears will come!

JD

I could fill a bathtub the tears I've shed at this anime lol

JD

"He's about to drop this old man dick on Meruem's shoulder." Roshi I didn't need this imagery.

JD

Gotta remember, the plan was never to take down the guard, only to separate them from the king. It's an important perspective to keep in mind when you watch these fights - that's what's motivating them and guiding their decision making.

I don't believe that Pitou worries about that like pouf does, I always interpreted it as her crying because the king asked for her help, that he needed her. I might just be a dumb dumb though

UnterhosenKoralle

this episode is amazing. In fact, the next episodes are all going to be amazing. It made me happy when you said Hunter x Hunter is slowly moving up your list of your most favourite shows. And you just started the palace invasion. I think after this arc Hunter x Hunter will have probably exceeded a lot of shows in your fav list haha. Literally cannot wait for the next week's episodes. Be prepared for not S Tier episodes, but masterpieces.

Oh, yeah. This show takes them emotions for a crazy roller-coaster ride. Lol

BubbleTea

I always shed a tear when Pitou starts crying after Meruem says 'I'm counting on you.' That's the 1st time the King has said he's relying on Pitou. Since the beginning he has basically treated the royal guard like trash. So Pitou was moved with the feels when Meruem actually needed him/her.

Austin Yun

Yeah Pitou was definitely crying because she was so happy that Meruem gave her an important task that he couldn't handle himself. That aside I love so much how she was able to split second use the downside of her secondary nen ability (Dr Blythe isn't even the one she uses in combat) to her advantage.

Not Thug Tears lol I wonder what mine should be called cuz I didn't see a speck of moisture from your E B's! When I saw ep 110 pop up I was like OH YES..... LETS GO! It's so hard to not just keep going because so much happens in each one. I'm so glad you give us multiples each week!

This episode illustrates the concept of morale which I can't recall any other animes incorporating at all or at least not this effectively. It's a crucial aspect of battle that is often glossed over in most mediums, not just anime, although I'm not exactly sure why, probably because it's not as "sexy" as traditional combat? Enjoying your watch through, glad you appreciate it for the work of art it is.

FragZone

Finally we see for the first time that Roshi isn't entirely heartless after all! Where is Lupa-san when you need him lol

Anthony Longoria

I think it's more on the side of the effectiveness of it in other stories/animes. Saga of Tanya deals with morality and morale almost constantly but on a larger more detached scale. Alderamin on the Sky is in the same boat, AoT as well, moral later and morale from basically the start. Although an American series, RWBY also has a focus on morale due to how the grimm sense people(ATLA also has a similar way of dealing with it due to the war while being just kids). Goblin Slayer deals with morale on more personal levels, Overlord and Iron Blooded Orphans both show a more zealous morale/moral(I know they're two different things, but they are still none the less connected almost at their roots, at least when the writing goes beyond 1 dimension) for our protagonist against a "weaker", more normal morale. I think it's as effective as it is for HxH because it isn't really a thing until now, we get some bits of it here and there but not a sledge hammers worth like here. The troupe for example, at first they're bad just to be bad, then as they take losses we see their connections and values, their morals, leading into the morale they have for Chrollo, for a few minutes or even just seconds every few episodes towards the end of the arc and in the following arc. Other serious make it a continuous part while HxH is so large and has so many details it doesn't really ever rely on it (Like Gon, even when he can't win he keeps going, 1. he's crazy, 2. he's the mc and that's all he really needs so we don't question it when they say he didn't care about the ninja having broke his arm)

Astor Lefflinker

A lot of credit have been given to the narrator, Togashi, voice actors, and the anime director, but damn, they hired some Howard Shore-level composer to do this arc. The music is so damn good.

Astor Lefflinker

It's great how this show and well, even the manga, showcased that. Well of course even more so in the anime because of the music and narration. When Zeno and Netero pulled up in the room and saw Komugi, even though I know that they didn't know Komugi was there, they looked like jackasses and it was like they're the bad guys, and I totally felt how they lost their morale.
