It only makes sense Zuko would be the one to teach aang. There was a pattern in this show where aang wanted a normal adult teacher. But he wound up with two kids Katara and Toph. Zuko being aangs fire bending teacher makes perfect sense when you look back.

Avatar is a show of parallels Aang and Zuko. Both of them want redmeption, both will change the world. The episode The Avatar and The Firelord isn't exactly about Roku and Sozin in my opinion. It shows that this show is the redemption of firelord and avatar in Aang and Zuko

Guys you need to remember Katara can only use bloodbending during a full moon. She has a very limited time frame in which she can do it and she can only do one at a time as far as we know at this point. So it is best to just stop acting as if it is a good last resort for her.

Honestly, I think since people know Ozai is a straight asshole they overlook this point, but that dude IMMEDIATELY went for murder! That lightning was no joke and there was 0 hesitation. He was straight up trying to kill his own son. Imagine how dark that would've been if Zuko hadn't redirected it. His son's dead corpse would just be lying there. And contrast that to how Iroh feels about losing his own lu ten. This is why I love this show!

Agreed. One of the many reasons why this show is so damn good is because we have such a capable antagonist as Azula. How many shows have you seen where once you see the antagonist you get nervous because of how capable s/he is? I look forward to every scene she is in because she always steals the scene. With the killer VA, she is my favorite character. There could be more appreciation of her character.

The best part about this entire two parter was Zuko confronting Ozai, I didn’t like how they reacted to the whole thing apart from the lightning redirection, kept talking about Iroh for some reason and lupa’s reaction🤣 to Zuko saying he’ll join aang like he just started watching the show

As we saw in the flashback to when they were kids, Azula has been training with Ty Lee since she was little. It's understandable for Azula to have picked up a lot of her style of fighting once she realized how useful that would be in situations like this where bending isn't available.
