I think this might be the best episode for Azula’s character we find out, 1 she actually cares on some level about Zuko, 2 because of the environment she was raised in her social skills outside of her family environment are do do and 3 if her mother had stayed she could have been way less psychotic than she is now.

Personally, I give Zuko a little more credit with what he's going through. I like to put myself in his feet. You are the prince of a powerful nation, and your entire life you have seeked the approval and love of your father. You're a teenager, meaning you're still in phase of your life where adults are kinda teaching you whats right and wrong. There is someone in your life who is telling you one thing (which is actually the right thing) but everyone in your life, from your father and brother to the guards around you and most people from your nation are saying the opposite. Would you be able to betray your own people? I'm not sure if I could?

i do think zuko and azula do love each other. or once did. but both their issues and the way they grew up aren't letting them co-exist with each other. it just doesn't work.

Azula doesn't actually know that Aang's alive and she isn't trying to "fold" Zuko lol. She just did it in case he was alive. It's a win-win for her. Either Aang is dead and Zuko gets the credit which isn't a big issue. Or Aang's alive and she isn't blamed for it. She can't be sure either way though she probably suspects that he's alive.
