So before Min gave Doosik the mission in North Korea, he first wanted to find a way to bind him down using Ms. Lee. That is why he gave her that assignment to make them fall in love so he could control Doosik and give him such missions and not run away and blab. And why he chose her starts with the failed Operation Seagull and them being similarly empathetic during that mission.

basically min and the s.korean govt were trying build up hope for the country by suggesting a summit between the two koreas but then stamp it down by sending doosik to kill the north’s president. so when it came out that the president seemingly died of “natural causes” and not an assassination min knew that doosik made it look like that and not just blatant assassination. no now doosik is now basically a loose end cause he’s not complicit in a murder, he just happened be in north korea the same day the president died of a heart attack 🤷🏾

basically, min is using mihyun as a leash to keep doosik in line and bound to this location, which is diabolical but also extremely smart (as long as it works). kinda sad that we couldn’t get 8–9 / 10–11 / 12–13 in the same week schedule, because they really work better as paired episodes or mini-arcs, but it be like that sometimes lmao

I know they've finished the show already but roshi and sheera are killing me with the fact that the dates keep going over their heads. Like it's 1990 something and they're like this is when he smashes, or this is when he dies. The current year for our mcs is 2018, and the kids are between 17-19 (not too familiar with korean culture but i'd assume a senior is between there), and they even saw the memory where our mc is in the sky with his dad so in my head the latest the dad died would be early 2000s. I love Roshi and Sheera
