AltStore 1.5 Release Candidate Now Available! (Patreon)
Content
Happy release day everyone!
Following the release of AltServer 1.5 RC a few weeks ago, we're excited to announce that AltStore 1.5 RC is also now available! This is the final beta before AltStore 1.5 is released to the public, so we appreciate you all testing this out before the final version. We plan to release both AltServer 1.5 and AltStore 1.5 next week — and from that point on we'll be free to work on some exciting updates to Delta!
Here's what's new in this RC:
📱 Trusted Sources
We've added a “Trusted Sources” section to the Sources page, which is a list of sources that we have personally reviewed and made sure meet our safety standards. Trusted sources can be easily added to your AltStore with a single tap, and for this initial release we're including sources for apps that currently support AltJIT: DolphiniOS, UTM, and Flycast 🎉 Don't worry though — adding “untrusted” sources via the "+" button is still supported, and we plan to expand the trusted sources list in the future to make discovering new apps as easy as possible!
🧸 Faster Friend Zone Credits
For those of you generous enough to support us as “Friend Zone” tier members, the Patreon screen will now display your names MUCH faster than before. This should make it even easier to find your name as one of our top supporters, and is the least we can do as thanks 💜
Besides these changes, this RC contains some last-minute improvements to the other major AltStore 1.5 feature:
🏎 Enabling AltJIT Directly via AltStore
AltJIT will launch for everyone with AltServer 1.5, but it must be activated from AltServer itself. AltStore 1.5 will make this much easier by allowing you to enable AltJIT directly from your iOS device (as long as you're on the same WiFi as AltServer) — just long-press any sideloaded app and choose “Enable JIT". Even better, apps that have integrated our AltKit framework (such as the apps included with our Trusted Sources) can automatically enable JIT without having to manually enable it first with AltStore or AltServer. Just launch any app with AltKit support, and it will automatically discover and communicate with AltServer to enable JIT without you having to think about it 🙌
Thanks again everyone for helping us get to the point of being able to release all these features. We are very grateful for all the patience and support we've received, and can't wait to start working on some new things that we hope will make you excited too 😊
