Thanks for all your bug reports regarding AltJIT! I've spent the past couple months tweaking the implementation and fixing bugs to make the process as seamless as possible, and although it has taken a bit longer than I would've liked I'm very happy with the progress I've made — which means I have new betas ready for testing 🎉
The biggest change with these betas is that you can now enable JIT for any sideloaded app directly from within AltStore. Previously, manually enabling AltJIT could only be done from the AltServer menu — now, just long-press an app in AltStore's "My Apps" tab, choose "Enable JIT" from the context menu, and AltStore will do the rest!
Additionally, I've now published the first version of AltKit, my new Swift Package that app developers can integrate with their apps to automatically enable JIT whenever they're on the same WiFi as AltServer. Some apps such as DolphiniOS and Provenance have already integrated AltKit, which means you can use JIT without having to manually enable it with AltStore/AltServer first. You can find the latest version of AltKit here: https://github.com/rileytestut/AltKit
Besides that though, there are also a bunch of smaller changes related to AltJIT (as well as some other quality-of-life improvements), so here are the highlights for each new beta:
AltStore 1.5 beta
* Adds "Enable JIT" context menu for active apps
* Adds "Open" context menu action for active apps
* Supports sideloading apps that use AltKit (such as DolphiniOS and Provenance)
* Asks user to deactivate an app first when installing a new app without any free app slots
* Fixes incorrect navigation and tab bar appearances on iOS 15
* Improves error message when computer date & time don't match iOS device
AltServer 1.5 beta 7 (macOS)
* Supports sideloading apps that use AltKit (such as DolphiniOS and Provenance)
* Mail plug-in supports latest macOS 12 Monterey beta
* Improves stability when enabling JIT
AltServer 1.5 beta 7 (Windows)
* Supports apps activating AltJIT over WiFi via AltKit
* Supports sideloading apps that use AltKit (such as DolphiniOS and Provenance)
* Fixes potential crash when fetching installed apps for connected devices
* Fixes accidentally ignoring authentication errors when installing AltStore
* Fixes sideloading apps without app groups
* Improves error messages
Now that iOS 15 is just about here, I want to release these updates ASAP; assuming there aren't any major bugs discovered, I'm planning to do that by the end of the month. As always though, please continue to report any bugs you discover in the AltStore Discord or by direct messaging me, and I'll do my best to respond to them all as soon as I can 🙂
NOTE: Windows users, make sure to uninstall AltServer before installing this beta to ensure it updates properly.
