Hi everyone, here's the update for this month! I surprised myself by just churning out the new content for Chapter 9; once I started, I couldn't make myself stop, so rather than doing a bit of Chapter 9 and a character interlude, I put all my effort into pushing ahead with the main story! It was a lot of fun; I think taking a break from Chapter 9 last month and only doing Riel and Halek's interludes allowed me to approach the chapter with fresh eyes, so now I'm excited to tackle the meat of this "mission"! The coding of this section is going to be significantly more advanced and complicated than in previous missions (save for the gladiator mission, perhaps), which is why I was initially dreading it, but now I'm having fun seeing how I can interweave certain storylines and have you be able to revisit some people and their conversations with new bits of info you glean from others at different points in time! I'm challenging myself to create a game mission that feels organic and branching, so it will take some time and a little tinkering to sketch out. Until it's completely finished, the unfinished routes will be greyed out, so don't panic when you find yourselves unable to select some options: it's not because your stats aren't high enough, I just did that to avoid confusion for now!

This update is pretty straightforward, so I don't think I have too much more other than that! I also chugged ahead on some goodies for the next few months as we wait for the weapon codexes to get finished up (Shepherds uniform concept art, perhaps? 👀), spruced things up a bit in the Discord server, and, of course, continued to work on the Twine port all month! Ivan's already started on Volume 2 of the OST and actually just sent me outlines of a song for Capra and for the Elementals just a few minutes ago, so I'll be listening to that tonight!

Next month will actually be me and my partner's 10-year-anniversary, so we'll be heading out of town in the second week of February for a few days to take a trip to the beach!
