Lotta bits of thoughts on this episode. This episode was the calm before the storm I think we needed it after the last episode. I think people can't seem to understand Louis and Armand's relationship they immediately jump to Louis doesn't love Armand (because they prefer Lestat) even when the show itself has told them to their face multiple times that he does. Dom/sub relationships are not the sub doing whatever the person that is the dom says. You are not obligated to do what the dom says all the time you choose to that's where the power is in the choice to give up some control. Armand never agreed to turn Madeline no time did he say he would. I don't like the implication people are using that if Louis tells Armand to do something he must do it or otherwise it somehow means Armand is holding his power over Louis. That's not how that works! And Daniel in the present doesn't help when he reinforces that idea. More on regards to making Madeline a vampire, my interpretation is that I do feel like Armand would go in there with an open mind to do it for Louis that's why he grilled Madeline so much because he was trying to find a reason a turning point like in the sewers his turning point was Louis bringing up Claudia and saying to protect her even with his demise behind him. The same as when he called Lestat in the episode previously reciting what Lestst was saying until the I love you and he goes "uh" starting but ultimately cutting off the line. The 'fledgling will hate you over time' part of Armand not wanting to turn someone is from Marius (his maker) it has been pounded and reinforced in him that he does manifest a mindnumbing repulsion to it I teared up at this scene twice "Why do I owe you my shame? Why do I owe you my one act of cowardice?" His voice breaking on the owe you. Maybe because I am a black woman I felt that. Why do you get to present my story to do what? Why do you? Louis may have agreed to this but I hadn't Promise I love Louis down but this man's hubris was the fall of Rome. I went back and watched episodes 2-4 of S2 and the number of times Amand spent giving him the shortened version of "The Coven is getting mad at you, you should probably get out of dodge." It's crazy
