It was never going to go this easy because you can't be in a honest healthy relationship with big lie between them. Whristledown is the drama for the second half. I don't think Eloise will be okay with Penelope marrying Colin and not telling him the truth first.

Yes the colors have meaning. There are visual easter eggs everywhere. ☺️ “Bridgerton Blue” Violet is usually in purple tones that lean towards blue like lavender. The boys usually blue, girls usually blue or other cool pastel colors with blue tones. Yellow represents Penelope usually, for example Colin started wearing yellow tones this season, and his room and bedsheets are yellow. Pen started wearing green, the mix of blue and yellow. The greens shift closer to blue tones, by E4 she’s in a pale green that is very close “bridgerton blue”. Even Eloise is in blues with green tones also, representing her friendship with Pen. There are more examples but yes, in each season the set and costume design is color coded.
