FUCK I need to see your reaction to the next episode! This episode was great, but it was, rather clearly, all just build-up for the next one! This show is too good and Meruem is too brilliant of a character, especially a villain.

Everytime I watch the scene of Welfin uttering Komugi's name and then the scene that immediately follows of the King's vision of how he sees Komugi as like his light ALWAY GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS OMFG.

In the end what won against the ants is technology. The ants might be at the top of the evolution biologically but we human have developed technologie and more way to kill each other. It remind me of a saying In an other show ( not even anime) When you fight someone don't pit their strength against your weakness. In here physical strength, Ants are stronger and average human are pretty weak vs animals. But use your strength against their weakness and human have always been our big brain and ability to be inventive.

You puting it like that it really reminds me of my favourite anime No Game No Life: "The strong sharpen their fangs, while the weak sharpen their wits" or (a little paraphrazed) "We are the weak, but that's why we've learnde to avoid the weapons of the strong in order to defeat them" Thinking about it, thats probably why Neteros move impressed me so much. He was the only one of the strong that understood what it meant to be weak and how he could use that to his advantage....

Keep in mind these are the actions of anime characters, not humans. While Meruem may not have chosen his human side entirely, not killing the intruders and hoping Welfein can live as a human again both show that the idea of ants ruling the world is less relevant in his mind, a belief heavily tide to his ant side.
