(I will do whatever isn't chosen next month!)

Hey everyone!

Its been too long since I last posted but I wanted to share this image of Ekko that I have been working on this week. I am extremely proud of it and have recently had a bit of a "level up" experience. You may have also seen the intense work I have been doing on a few drawings of Ranni really getting into the anatomy. So the silence has not been wasted! Your boy has been learning alot.

This is why, for this week I wanted to get into the details of my process for this painting and what I have learned to get here. So far this is about 13 hours of work. The last 10% always takes me forever though...probably like 4-6 hours to go. (I don't really think this is good lol) However, I know that most of you are interested in more of the drawing related topics that I teach (anatomy/figures etc) so please feel free to let me know what your preference is.

Both videos will probably be an hour or more. (full disclosure though, I plan to make a Youtube video on Ekko, but that will be 8-10 minutes long, with 90%+ being just the Procreate Timelapse ) Just a little something to entertain the majority online who aren't quite ready to get serious yet/ interested in the details.

I can't wait to share the things I have learned about bridging color transitions, patterns that I see other artists using on the color wheel, how to avoid over rendering etc. But I also find the shoulder/arm the most difficult part of the body BY FAR, and I finally consider it not to be scary anymore - just lots of stuff to remember. Its like when you are studying for a test with flashcards. You study for a bit and every time you get something wrong you are like.."OHH OF COURSE YEAH I FORGOT!"...but a week later you instantly remember the answer before your classmate finishes reading the card! That's where I feel like I need to be if I want to draw arms as well as I do with heads. Right now, I just sit there looking braindead every few seconds as I try to remember which muscle goes where lol.
