Second Time in a Row ~ First like and First Comment!!!

Film Vagabond

Potemkin was quite something

Cool example of how a close relationship doesn't have to be sexual.

No mention of potemkin villages? Guess they'd be in Lies episode.

The more things change, the more they stay the same...

If only more relationships between men and women could be as healthy(ish) as that of Catherine and Potemkin.

Power always complicates relationships...but they made it work in the end.

Regarding 6:08 : Using Russia Today as a reference makes me somewhat uncomfortable given their rather special relationship towards the truth (i. e.: possibly "friends with benefits", but certainly not committed or exclusive). Surely there would have been other sources with the same story?

And how relationships can change over time and still be rewarding to both people in them. :)

We plan to, but the list of things we want to include in Lies is super long and some things may have to get cut. Still, yes, we would like to talk about potemkin villages!

If only more historical relationships were like theirs and less like, say, Henry VIII...

It's interesting (and a little sad) that their relationship worked better after they stopped being romantic with each other, as all of the insecurities that Potemkin had about being romantically involved with a woman who had power over him seemed to change when the context of their relationship did...

I confess I'm not too knowledgeable about the veracity/history of Russia Today, but I'll keep this kind of thing in mind should we use real newspapers again in the future.

Thanks. Basically, RT is the Kreml's propaganda loudspeaker towards the west. I mean, to give them credit, they did fake news before it was cool. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RT_(TV_network)#Responses
