Extra History will be going on break after this weekend's episode, the last of our animated episodes about Simón Bolívar and the conclusion of his story! Lies will return in January, but we didn't want to wait that long to reveal the beautiful poster that David made for this series. Come January, it will return as a poster print you can buy!

Simón Bolívar traveled through Europe as an idealistic young man who idolized Napoleon - but when Napoleon declared himself an emperor, Bolívar lost faith in him. He vowed to do better when he returned home to free South America, but the realities of war and the necessities of government weighed heavily on him. Though he never took the title of Emperor, his policies made many people look on him with the same scorn he'd once aimed at Napoleon... and yet he remained the man who brought freedom to so many: El Libertador.
