But the errors we made (minarets on the Hagia Sophia!) and the questions viewers have asked us give us the opportunity to expand on many parts of the story that we had to leave out of the series, and we encourage you to perform a full dive into this history to learn about the Hagia Sophia's construction, early doctrines of Christianity, and many more details about the life of Belisarius. Plus, James can't resist the temptation to play Six Degrees of Walpole to see how our infamous meddler from the South Sea Bubble series can be connected to the history of Justinian and Theodora! ___________ Get the intro music here! http://bit.ly/1EQA5N7 *Music by Demetori: http://bit.ly/1AaJG4H Get the background music here! Awesome video man. I'm always down for longer episodes myself so I appreciate the extra care you put into this one. I noticed you said the new series would focus on the first crusades. I didn't get an e-mail about voting for what would be next so I was wondering where I should go to do that. Thanks again for the episode and looking forward to the first episode.

First of all, just to be clear I'm not part of the EH staff. Now, that being said... the topics are decided a couple of months in advance, so they have time to work on them and get the series prepared. So if you only just became a patron - sorry, the next couple of topics are decided (If I recall correctly, The First Crusade, and then The Broad Street Pump). Fairly soon we should get a chance to vote on the topic that comes after that - they'll send out emails, and there'll be a post up here on the Patron feeds.

Very awesome video, and I don't mind the length one bit. It was fun seeing James so animated about everything. * Kitty Grin *

It is extremely amusing to me that while explaining that Arian does not equal Aryan, James misspells it (with his voice, that is...) "Ayran", which in today's Turkey is a popular yoghurt drink... I wonder who messed up James' scri- it was Walpole.

Sorry I haven't been commenting lately, I've been super busy the past few weeks. That being said, this series was amazing! I'm so happy you guys were able to take my suggestion and you all did such an amazing job with it! I hope someone does suggest more topics having to do with Justinian's reign, because I would love to see even more on this topic from you guys! Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the new series starting next week! I can't wait! Again, thank you guys so much! You all are awesome!

Thank YOU for suggesting it and allowing us to do this series, Colin! I'm so glad it won; we had a great time making it, and I'm happy that you enjoyed it as much as you did! I'm sure we'll come back to it to finish the story in good time, too. ;)

We have to start another! First Crusade is already on the docket! But we'll come back to it soon enough, I'm sure. :)

I know this is coming criminally late, but is there any record of what happened to the executioner who botched the execution of those two leaders of the demes who served as the tinder of the Nika revolt?
