James posted an update regarding the statement we made last week, on his Twitter. We still stand by our initial statement and intentions of respecting everyone's privacy, but this is some additional context on what the HR agency recommended us to do and what we want to do moving forward. https://twitter.com/JamesPortnow/status/1008055798537129984?s=19

I'm really glad that steps are being taken. After Channel Asesome's #changethechannel it's good to see that other YouTube channels have learned from their mistakes

This is exactly the extra info I was hoping for in my previous comment, and does a good job to specifically (w/o gory details) outline the steps being taken. Thank you for handling this professionally and thoughtfully. Best wishes to the whole team!

From the looks of things, Mr. Portnow was not aware that he was hurting anyone, yet is also able to recognize in light of this incident that he still bears some responsibility for what happened and is not going to make excuses for it or try to deflect blame. Simply put, meaning no harm and doing no harm are not always the same thing. This kind of response is what I was hoping for. Still, I hope you'll keep us up-to-date on anything new that happens with regards to this mess.

This is exactly the kind of follow up statement many of your supporters were looking for — professional, and extrapolating on exactly the kind of things that needed further explanation. I’m very glad to see that James is taking responsibility for his part in this, and that Extra Credits is masking the necessary changes to make sure this kind of thing doesn’t happen again. Thanks to Belinda and James for keeping things professional and reasonably transparent throughout this process.

Awesome! While meaningful comments are impossible without knowing the specifics, it's good to know I can always create blame out thin air for anyone I no longer like by inventing something to get offended about - they don't even need to do anything at all, they're guilty as soon as I say they are... if this isn't in Sun Tzu, it should be.

That's substantially better, and I appreciate EC making the effort to respond more clearly. I think it's especially important to acknowledge that it's important for all employees to have to recourse to someone, in case they have a problem with their boss.

This is much more acceptable now. An issue with the previous statement was that it seemed as though, based on the structure of EC, that James could just clear himself of any wrongdoing with a snap of his fingers. Restructuring EC so that James or anybody else can't abuse power is a really good solution and I'm pleased to see measures being taken and admitting responsibility after a fashion. It doesn't excuse all of the things James seems to have been personally accused of, irrespective of the EC work environment, which do still seem abhorrant, but it's definitely miles better than the debacle with Channel Awesome last month and the progress should definitely be noted.

I'm glad the Investigator Decided that there was no Evidence of Improprieties with Regards to the Bullying Claim.
