Warring States Japan: Sengoku Jidai - Lies - Extra History

Although of course we are simplifying matters for the sake of a ten minute show, we mix both the "Marxist" or "people's" history approach (where broad social patterns drive change) and the "great man" theory of history (where individuals drive change) because we believe the reality lies somewhere in between. During this episode, we examine the mistakes and ommissions made during the Sengoku Jidai series and tell some of the stories we didn't have time for during these six episodes. We hope that it piques your curiosity enough to look into the sources on your own and decide for yourself how you would tell and analyze the story of Japan's Warring States Period! ___________ BONUS! hey guys, absolutely loved the Sengoku Jidai series, and I just recently discovered that Crash Course History actually did a big episode on Heian era Japan. Realizing that their video and yours came around at almost the exact same time I was almost surprised that neither show gave the other a shout-out, although I believe theirs came out just a bit after your last episode so I suppose it's understandable. either way, I gave you guys a shameless plug on their page so I'll put one out for them here too.
