I do love these Sponsored Episodes on the Second World War and Hope there will be more of them. I am also Tempted to look on Wargaming at World of Battleships but I suspect it will cost Money to Download.

This might be an odd question, near the end when the sailors were surendering, why not capture the Bismark and scrap it for resources instead of sink it.

That would be very dangerous. The ship was on fire and still filled with oil and ammunition, which a danger to any ship close enough. Also, Bismarck was already taking in alot of water, if Bismarck went under while another ship was towing her, it could sink the other ship too. Even if the British wanted to, the Germans were scuttling the ship. German naval regulations require the crew to destroy their ship before abandoning her.

That's the thing I always loved about naval battles, it forces you to think in 3D with an ever changing 'terrain'. Nothing is stationary, everything moves.
