Hey everyone, hopefully you weren’t missing last week’s text update too much. We were down a staff member during some critical operations and Marie didn’t have time to write it up. Fortunately, that means there’s more content to update you on this week.

Bloodlust: Lanessa - Blood Crown -- Finishing touches: 11.8%. Overall Production: 71.8%

Miro’s process of going through shots one-by-one has continued this month. He is expecting scene 1 (the main story scene) to be finished in May then he’ll be moving chronologically into scene 2. The pace of production will likely pick up next month in general now that we’re close to wrapping up a large development project that’s been in the works since last year.

CyPunk 1000 Patrons Vaginal Sex Animation Winner -- We’re getting close on this, and miro will begin polishing after the next round of changes is completed. The points of concern at the moment are adjusting an arm so it’s out of the way, and trying to get a good shot of Sophia’s mouth when she’s talking. The latter point is a bit tough, however, due to the position they’re in and the wall being in the way.

Seed of Rebirth Animation - One of our 3d generalists succeeded at importing Raven’s dick and we’re expecting to review some preview shots of the final import soon.

Flying High Image Set -- Part 5 is in progress. We’ll probably have an ETA for the next text update.

Fan Service Image Set -- A new Sayako outfit preview will be posted sometime this week.

Around 1 moth Finishing touches: +6.1%. Overall Production: +1%. and remove Tentative release date: Christmas 2021 from post https://www.patreon.com/posts/text-update-31-49441779 At this rate, it would take over year to finish. Hoped covid wouldn't make it more late.

Maxed

Thanks for the information I was wondering if I remembered the rate being low & as you showed it unfortunately isn’t just low but incredibly low.

Will there be another trailer for blood crown?

Chrissy

The post said they likely would be speeding up the production, so hopefully that will happen! :)=

I think there may be a miscalculation for the overall, but we'll rectify with the next update

So in summary, how many large development projects still exist to be wrapped up before we can truly buckle down? And I mean, truly this time, because we're rapidly approaching halfway through the year and that percentage hasn't budged. Previously it was the storefront/website that was the major blocker. Then it was "figuring out what else needed to be done now that the storefront is done." Now it seems there's been another major unknown blocker all along. Please understand, I think the most diehard fans have bent over backwards to be charitable over the years. The transparency is absolutely appreciated, but every single BC update so far has brought with it some form of: "Now that this is out of the way we can really get to work!" It's really hard to have a postive outlook on A3D's time management skills here. Especially if you've been here for previous releases. Over 10 years now, it doesn't sound like moving to this gig fulltime, or getting access to a better rig/render farms, or getting more artists on board, or more revenue streams has solved the chronic elephant in the room. Basically, what other aspects do you think are missing that would solve the problem at this point?

Welcome to Affect3D, where all possible improvements are somewhere just over the horizon. We never get there, but we always keep mentioning them and how great the next release will be. :D When this patreon first appeared I was stupid enough to think that finally now they'll have to buckle down and be more focused on their products and will also communicate better. Instead we started getting sets with quality and content all over the place and with what seems less and less involvement from Miro. I thought ok, the sets are so and so, but this means that Miro is probably focusing on the big movie, riight? Two years later we were told Miro still has about a year's work ahead of him bringing the stuff done up to that point to his level of quality, which means he probably was not involved that much. What the hell is going on? Also can we please acknowledge how messed up the store excuse is. The artist/studio we are supporting with money on patreon was telling us they will deliver less content since they will focus on improving their other money making scheme. How exactly does working on a website's frontend/backend affect the work of posing and animating 3d stuff. Isn't Affect3D successful enough to hire a coder to do that job? Did Miro and other artists stop what they were doing to learn web development?

Perhaps they meant slushe, since it was down for maintenance today

There's a lot of negative feedback which I can understand and definitely has a lot of truth to it, however I want to try and be more constructive in my feedback. First two things that I want to point out: 1. These updates are good, regardless of whether we like the progress %, it at least gives transparency so I hope these continue even if we response with frustration at the progress :) 2. 3D is HARD, so I can sympathise and think the team are genuinely trying hard despite the slow progress. The intention is there, but it's not translating into consistent output. My thoughts on why below. 1. Realistic Image Sets: Miro & team are trying too hard. Trying to churn out image sets of 100+ is awesome, but it's not realistic. Trim it down to 30. Treat them as pinups, not stills from a movie. Flying high has around 20 images at the start to set up the scene, but if you really wanted, it could be trimmed to 3. You'll burn out trying to produce these massive image sets, so keep it short. 2. Consistency & Quality: By keeping to shorter image sets, you can spend a little bit more time on quality instead of frantically setting up all the poses for so many stills. You can also release on a weekly basis (say 5-7 images a week) so by the end of the month we've got a complete set and we feel like we have regular updates. 3. Work in parrallel: I can't tell how many artists are producing the content but given the number of projects listed in the update you must have at least 3 - if not, then you really are taking on way too much. If your release cycle for a complete set is now 1 month instead of the current 6months, each month is dedicated to a specific team's image set. This allows downtime for other teams when it's not their release month to set up new scenes, explore ideas and just generally not be burnt out. 4. More time for Miro: Less quality checking, less fire fighting, more time on Blood Lust :) Those are just my thoughts - if it's of any help then great, if not then no worries. Would it be worth doing a poll to see your patreons would be willing to have shorter image sets if it means more frequent releases?

Hard to say what's going on tbh, I've stopped quite some time ago directly getting info on wtf is happening (lost any sense of care) so I'm not certain myself at this point, I do understand the growing ONCE AGAIN... complaints over this from an outside perspective cluster fuck to be real. I have no doubts still that people working with or for the boss man do want and are trying to get shit done be it main project(s) or content for here, though IMO based on this happening EVERY single year for idk since the forum days way back. has to be a management problem. To many tasks are getting opened up, staffing issues. Poor time management. Hell maybe even funding (though doubt this one) Damn even having difficulties delegating major tasks to other people, this in itself is a highly common theme with many smaller business owners finding it hard to let others complete jobs they've done themselves in the past, that in itself would cause massive time sinks. No matter what it might be or several reasons for why, what is clear WAAAAAAAAY to much is on the go at once. I've honestly stopped buying into "we're improving X thing to increase speeds" Looking from where we sit I have yet to see anything change what so ever. Again... I heavily dislike posting this sort of comment, bet most people here do also, though It's quite mind boggling how every large update something else is in the way of major time dedication being able to happen on areas we've been waiting for...... far to long To be frank I'd highly appreciate a brutally honest post listing the roadblocks and challenges they're dealing with be it daily, or time to time causing the constant slowdowns. No bullshit, purely honesty. If people can sort of understand what's going on you'd be amazed at how many can let go of frustration via the lack of any meaningful progress/painfully slow content releases. However.... Like I said, needs to be brutally honest. I'm not being spiteful here, more so venting a little bit.

It's a bit disappointing to see things moving so slow on such a major project. You would think that there would be lots of hands eyes and helpers on this not to mention the absolute ball breaking hardware that is available these days to speed up rendering. Having been supporting on patreon since the start to get extra content sooner and give some money up front to help it just makes you feel that things are just as much out of reach as they were before patreon. Will patreon members at least get codes for blood crown?

IBT

If you've been a $5 patreon since late 2018 when the A3D forums got thrown overboard, you've already spent over $150 US on this patreon while waiting (and waiting and waiting and waiting...) for miro to finish Blood Crown. It's not unreasonable to think that those of us who have been $5 patreons for more than a year have already paid for Blood Crown through our donations. I mean, $5 per month for 12 months is $60 ... and 2.5 years is $150. At this point, I feel somewhat like there's been a bait and switch for multiple copies of Blood Crown (as far as donation vs cost is concerned). Feel free to check my math, anyone.

100% true IBT. Granted the image sets were shifted as the main focus of the Patreon, but even those have absolutely slowed in pace. Just visited the store to check the prices on everything (and man, the store response time is still incredibly sluggish). $80 for all the image sets here on Patreon. The extra animation content has slowed to a crawl along with BC and the image sets. The Cyberpunk lip synching has been in progress for probably 3 weeks now. There just has to be an olive branch extended to longtime patrons when BC comes out, since we've absolutely paid for it by now, especially if image sets were supposed to be the main focus, we've paid more than twice for those than someone would browsing through the store. There's just a huge gap in value here that needs to be made up.

I said since the beginning if they ever want this to go mainstream or grow in popularity they have to find a way to increase production. If not then yes explanations would go a long way to making us more patient. Another thing is, is there are no animations even close to Miro's productions so other artists need to step up so we aren't just waiting for 1 guy all year. Jared999D is pretty close but he seems to take forever too and his patreon is super expensive for how long the wait is.

take your time Miro, ill gladly give you all my money just keep doing what youre doing
