I'm a spuffy shipper, but even I smiled a little when buffy kissed Angel. Angel really grew on my throughout his own show, he's a sweetie. I wish she could have both of them lol

Great reaction. I remember feeling conflicted by that kiss. Buffy & Angel were so iconic when I was a teenager watching it, but I grew to love spike and Buffy in season 6 & 7 (it took me a while to get past what he tried to do at the end of season 6 though. Still hate that). I was also annoyed the scoobies didn’t even attempt to apologise for what they did kicking her out of her house.

It's been 18 years since I first saw this episode and only now did I realize something that bothered me - what was Spike doing before he showed up at Buffy's house? I had assumed he was waiting out the sun after waking up to Buffy's note, but the Scoobies said the locator spell took them to an empty house. Where had Spike gone?

No conflict for me, I think Buffy and Angel are, at least for now, of the past but I don't believe 'Bike' should ever have been a thing 🤢😂😂

When it comes to the last scene for me it was more WTF moment then romantic. Yes Bangel we’re special in the past but both of them grew as individuals on their own show and they’ve had different relationships. For me it just felt like they both out grew that relationship and it was not because they wanted to, it’s because of things that happened in their life that pushed that. Since Buffy is ending obviously some fans had to know something big had to happen someway with Buffy and Angel but again they are both in different places in their lives to me…

Agree with everything especially the none apology. Everyone just picked up where they left off which made that last scene in the Empty Places even more irrelevant in the long run…

Always thought that ending was so irreverently funny. Imagine building up character and thematic arcs through 143 episodes of a cult icon show received very well by both academic circles and casual fans, all wondering how you'd set up for a grand finale, only to end on the cliffhanger: "that bitch". XD

yeah i think it was Bangel fan service, but I just saw it as a "I havent seen you in ages, I care a lot about you" comfort kiss, so my Spuffy heart was pretty unphased

Buffy and Angel will always be in love! If there was a way for them to be together safely, they would. No matter who else Buffy or Angel are with, They will be each other's true love.

The comics are S8 9 and 10 and then some other comics too. Personally as someone whose never been into comics I kinda ignore them and only have a vague knowledge of the plot but I remember getting SO many ads for them way back when

I adore the scene with Anya and Andrew, so strong especially when looked back on. And I just love Dawn and her growth. Her researching and magic knowledge has increased and her taking charge and zapping Xander......she has become her own underrated badass 🥰 x
