On whether Doug's behavior is corrupted by knowing how points work -- Here's what I think: Unlike the four in the Soul Squad, Doug doesn't KNOW that this is how the afterlife works. Nobody has confirmed it for him, he hasn't seen a magic portal or anything like that. This is just a system that he invented, the same as with millions of others who think they know how it all works. The difference is that by coincidence, he happened to be 92% accurate in his guess. But being convinced you're right isn't the same as objectively being correct, so his points are OK, as far as that goes. You're right! Doug was played by Michael McKean, who, after first becoming famous in a rather dumb 1970s sitcom, has become of the most distinguished and versatile American actors around. I have seen him onstage in musicals, in Pinter, in Thornton Wilder, using a variety of accents, always excellent. In Good Omens, the joke the actors made was that he used the Scottish accent that David Tennant wasn't using right then. It's great fun to watch you watch this season, because as good as the preceding episodes have been (and I think you like them even better than I do), everything goes into high gear starting with this episode. The unpredictability of Janet kicking demon ass in a bar fight is one of the most wonderful gifts any series has given me. And now the next episode... well, I'll say no more except that I envy you getting to watch it for the first time.
