I always let out a big sigh of relief when people react to this episode bc I can finally stop tip-toeing around Lorne's name haha I love the little bits of queer coding we get from Lorne, like the Elton John comment in this ep, and Lorne's description of his home always feels like a queer analogy to me. Like he escaped a horrible place and family that he didn't fit into because he didn't meet society's expectations of him on a fundamental level. I mean lots of people feel that way about their upbringing for all sorts of reasons, including for Lorne's actual reasons like the inability to express himself artistically or ideologically. But it's just cool and interesting that the first bit of backstory we get about him is about his otherness when he was growing up, contrasted with how well he's doing now.
