Writing Progress! May Round-Up (Patreon)
Content
So, May. We had a major slowdown after I finished the draft of PG5, which needed lots and lots of fine-tuning before I was ready to publish. I think I read the draft six times? And incorporated two drafts of editorial suggestions, too. So a lot of my time was spent on that, and on publication work (formatting, cover art, uploading everywhere, updating websites, writing newsletters and book launch posts, etc).
Nevertheless, here's what I did with the time I had left:
- Obviously, I finished PG5. That took me 14, 419 words.
- Coracle incremented all of 157 words, reflecting my single-minded focus on getting In Extremis out the gate.
- But, as you can see, Dreamhearth has left the station: 4403 words on that in the last week as I switched gears onto my next serious project. I'm guessing Dreamhearth will be done sometime in July, which will free me up for...
- PG6: From Ruins, which I dropped 1848 words on to start the document. I wanted to have it seeded for when I turn my attention back to it later this year.
Next month, PG5 will drop off this graphic, leaving me with my three current projects. Dreamhearth will be my next big push, with PG6 planned for later this year. Coracle will fit into the spaces between things; probably more of it will show up while I'm working on PG6 because I was surprised at how much it helped me to be writing something happier while working on In Extremis. Which was not happy. At all.
So, kind of a discombobulated month from a progress perspective. But hey, I published a book! A long one!
Other news:
- Second and Who is Willing (Alysha Forrest 2 and 3) got their print editions in May, and Who is Willing's audiobook edition is almost ready.
- Anthrocon is at the end of this month, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of you there!
- For those of you not attending the con, Patreon Chat day is (tentatively) scheduled for Friday, June 16th.
And that's the news! Once I've compiled my book sales numbers I'll have that analysis for you, probably next week. As usual, that's patrons-only, so if you want the nitty-gritty on sales data, toss me a buck. :)
More soon!
