[If you're reading along I don't think there are any spoilers in this.]

Here's what we know about Antigua: The Land of Fairies Wizards and Heroes' greatest character, Peter:

  • He's King Aurthorr's brother: "Off to the sides were several centaurs, the miniwads Ruth, Filomena, Ambrosia, Donovan, Charliey, Bernard and Cornelius. There were the king’s brothers Victor, Anthony and Peter." [pg 42 of the canon]
  • He's a local in a village in the kingdom of Arlexjandrio and a friend of Shaun Williams and Bernardo Thomasson and his last name is Wellington (so we can assume the King's full name is Aurthorr Wellington?): “Hey, you think I can be one of them there knights?” The last man named Peter Wellington yelled, “You can be one of them knights Shaun! All you need is a shiny sharp sword!” [pg 54 canon]
  • He's also close friends with the wizard apprentices Leonido and Stepan: "The Wizard Leonido and the Wizard Stepan closed their eyes and suddenly their closest friends Peter and Jonah appeared." [pg 60 canon]
  • He's BEST friends with the Lady Alámage: "Her friend Cantina asked, “You’re not going to quit on us are you Alámage?” Her best friend Peter said, “Yes! She’s going to quit on us so that she can go off and ride on that dragon of hers!" [pg 216 canon]

So, putting it all together, Peter Wellington, brother of the king, resident of the land of King Arlexjandrio, friend to Shaun Williams and Bernardo Thomasson, close friend of the wizard apprentices Leonido and Stepan, leaves his home and travels to the village of 17 year-old Lady Alámage often enough that he is BEST friends with her! I mean, royals, for all their faults, are often interesting people but Peter Wellington is by far the most fascinating character in the book. Aside from the nasty fox, obviously.

Peter is the Palpatine of Antigua.

I wonder if it’s a coincidence but the first name of the Duke of Wellington, was Arthur though none of his brothers were called Peter, Victor or Anthony
