Basically this is of course possible, in my case it worked and may be needed for those who have assymetrical ear canals, I perceive my resonance at the same frequency for both ears, but some report values that differ, in this case you may want to apply different EQs to both units, another reason may be for example better channel matching between both units which would require way more effort though but basically could offer an even more solid imaging with both channels matched well. You can apply different EQs to both the left and right unit, it won't save it, as you will get an error message that the partner was not found, but as soon as you do realtime update it is stored permanently within the device anyhow it would seem, I just did a real time update with another EQ for one of the units, while keeping the other one inside the box, I could connect to just this single unit also from within the app and change to another EQ by simply hitting realtime update after reconnecting to both units, one was playing with the new EQ also after power down for a longer time they still both played with separate EQs.

To equalize only one unit keep the other one inside the box so that they cannot sync to each other and do your adjustments. The Free Pro and Free Pro 2 use that dual connect feature and will connect to your phone separately although they will appear as single unit in the Bluetooth settings. Just wanted to mention as this is a nice workaround to achieve exactly that and can offer further options like improving channel matching although that would simply require to have both units measured precisely and equalized separately to the same response, thus double the work. Although this could be also an interesting experiment to compare a perfectly matched pair against one that is not matched that well out of factory. I received a second unit of the Free Pro 2 yesterday and immediately applied my current EQ setting I am still working on to compare both directly. The difference although hearable was not significant, the new unit appears a tad brighter overall, I actually like it slightly more and readjusted my EQ a bit, I should also get a 3rd unit these days so can try finding some kind of average setting which should work well for all 3 units equally without the need of readjusting the EQ for one or the other which was the case with the old Free Pro as I had to optimise my settings for any of the units, they differed simply too much. The other difference I noticed was imaging, one projected slightly more to the left, the other one to the right, although the difference became only obvious in direct comparison, you didn't notice any imbalance from one or the other unit.
