Today I went to my local Mediamarkt store to ask for a JBL Xtreme 3 loaner but they haven’t got any yet. Also online there are hardly any stores which have them in stock, therefore my plan to compare a Minirig 2.1 system against 2 Xtreme 3 was scotched.

But I had the chance to try out the Sony SRS-XB33 and compare it to the JBL Charge 4. To my surprise the Sony is not that bad and sounds definitely better than the bigger XB43. I may get one in future for a more detailed test.

I listened to the new JBL Go 3 and although some improvement over the previous models it’s still far from decent, but design is more funky for sure.

I also heard the new Partybox 310 and as expected it’s pretty decent, smoother sounding than the Partybox 100 and with quite a bit more power.

I also tried the Marshall Emberton black and brass edition as there was someone commenting the black/brass unit would sound different to the regular ones, but the unit I tesred had still the same boomy distortion with bass. They are all on sale, so maybe Marshall didn’t have quite the success with them.

I shot some outdoor videos with the Xtreme 3 during the last days which I will post next but I am planning to go out again before finally returning it to just compare a single Xtreme 3 against the Minirigs although the result is quite predictable.

Maybe you can do a review of the Partybox 310 in future. I got it and sold my Partybox 100. Its sounds really good to my ears. Hopefully I can get it to many partys after the Covid time.

How it is even possible to make a speaker from the same line without tweeters sound better than a speaker with, only Sony can do that. Very interesting, i wonder if the cables are even connected on the XB43.

As a rock fan, I love the Marshall aesthetics, but not all its products fits my sound tastes. I listen frequently to my Stockwell II and love its neutral and envolving sound, and its inexhaustible battery time. In a picture above I see the Stanmore II box, this week a unit will arrive as a gift (today is my 50's birthday!), it seems to offer a more coloured sound but still clear and balanced. Oluv, have you listened to the Stanmore II?

I only know the old Standmore, haven't listened to the new one. It's not really my kind of thing.

I ordered the XB33 and will compare it against the XB43 as long as I still haven't returned it

This looks like a rummage sale. Well, I guess that's what it is.
