I made a bold claim that a Minirig 2.1 setup can compete against 2 JBL Xtreme 3. I am thinking of driving to the Mediamarkt and borrow a 2nd Xtreme 3 because today is the last day before our new lockdown, besides I already prepared my Xtreme 3 for return.

I could maybe shoot a quick video today and wanted to ask you if there is any interest in this.

Minirigs vs JBL Xtreme 3

(Commenting before watching) Well if you pass by you could then test out the xb33 too in the meantime.

I'd be a fool to bet against your bold claim, or any other claim of yours - but the idea is intriguing. I had a 2.1 Minirig system, and to me it needed a second sub. I bought one, and I'm glad I did, but I felt I'd been manipulated by Minirig. I'd reconsider the manipulation part if the 2.1 buries a pair of X-Tremes - not that I expect that much from the X-Tremes, but as party speakers a pair should be competitive in the lower regions at least. So yeah, I'd like to see that comparison - but only if you want to do it. Reviewing JBL & Sony back to back isn't for the faint of heart, but that's what's out there now - not your fault. Gotta play the hands we're dealt.

Just saw you posted a Minirig / Xtreme vid - could render my last comment moot, guess I'll find out. You're keeping me up late - it's 3:30 am here.

I noticed.... 😀 Nice to watch your vids anyhow.

a pity the sub doen't have a option to have some lower bass, without just having to tone down bass overall, still the rest of freq is good and at high lvls they are better than the xtreme indeed, just that they have then a bit too much of the kick.
