Inflation this and inflation that (Patreon)

CLARIFICATION/TLDR: I AM NOT PLANNING TO CHANGE TIER PRICES, so no reason to worry that I'm about to do it as things stand.

While operating costs have increased, I'm still not in a place where that's needed.

Some confusion, so clarifying :-)

As we're all aware, the global finances are in turmoil, and there's no reason to believe that will pass anytime soon. This has had a major impact on the cost of living and the cost of services of late. In recent times I've started getting questions if I will need to act in reaction to this reality...

My situation at this point in time is that none of the entities providing services to me have upped their pricepoint to such a level where I am unable to handle it with the current tier pricepoints, and as such I have no intentions to adjust the tier prices at this point in time.

If that situation changes though, and prices starts increasing all over the place, I will ofc be forced to up the tier levels to keep my head above water, so doesn't hurt to explain how I would react to such a scenario.

IF that happens, I will intend to just lock off the current tiers for new signups, allowing everyone on those tiers to keep their place at the same tier, for the same price. That means that anyone on the current tiers keeps their tier access for the original price they pledged for, even as tier prices are changed. (both monthly and yearly pledgers), which I think is fair. nobody likes the terms changed on them out of the blue after all, so I should strive to not do that whenever possible.

In short:

At this point in time I do not intend to go through a price adjustment, nor do I foresee one in the immediate future, though that can change if everything takes a sudden right turn. If such a thing happens though, I will make sure to properly inform about it before I do anything, so rest assured that there will not be any major swings out of the blue.
