Hi there everyone.

let's first say:
If something is not working for you after getting a new repack and you contact me, for the love of god, tell what's wrong, the following helps nobody:

Your "Update" wrecked my game. Now waiting hours to reload A.I. 10

I actually need to know what supposedly wrecked your game. I very much would like to fix whatever problem the update caused, but here's the thing:

The packs have been ready for almost a week before release, and I used the time in between to test stuff for both games in between. Usually this isn't too bad, since the amount of mods is reasonable... it absolutely weren't this time. I did miss the BonesFramework, that's very much on me (that is currently being sent out as a hotfix via KKManager/the update button in the launcher if you have yet to grab it), but some stuff will slip beyond my testing every so often, that's just the way of it.

Now, how do we address this?

I do have a tier that's meant for testing stuff I'm especially dodgy about releasing, I could start to use that more actively (Only used twice during my time here, once for KK and once for EC during updates that were super far reaching), BUT that would mean gating packs... I don't really want that, as that may end up being a case of "Well, I want the newest, so I guess I'll pay for it", and I don't want anyone to feel obligated to pay me, this is supposed to be optional to support, not the purchase of a product...

Or I can simply recommend that you enter new updates with caution, some stuff might've slipped my testing. I am one person, and I perform the testing by my lonesome, and this release shows that... no matter how much time I put into testing, there may be something I'm missing that someone will experience when they get the pack proper. I am addressing problems as I'm made aware of them, issuing hotfixes and the like, but that will take some time... report, testing, replication, troubleshooting, distributing hotfix...

There is one thing you can do by yourself if you updated from let's say AIS R10 to R11, AND ALLOWED THE UPDATER TO BACKUP YOUR OLD FILES:

- Move away the existing BepInEx folder
- In your game folder you will find a backup folder ([BR]R10 Backup) in this case
- Move the contents of the backup folder to your game folder
- There, you're back at the previous version more or less

I would love to hear what you all think about this. I am now dealing with continual updates for 6 games, that's a lot to keep straight, but I'm trying my level best here...

Related, one or more of the packs may need to start looking towards Discontinuation for the betterment of the remaining ones unfortunately... I like all of these games, so I really don't want to, but only so many hours in the day, and key packs are taking far too long to get around to... feel free to share your thoughts on this as well...

Warning people to be careful with new updates should be enough, plus there's the backup system exactly in case things unexpectedly go wrong. Why not trying to put the packs for older games on a slower update cycle instead of discontinuing them?

Yes, I no longer like discontinue discontinue packs, rather I put them into the Museum category. Difference is that packs in the museum category are basically low priority packs. I don't promise any updates, but if I have reason and time to, I'll poke at it when nothing else tugs at my attention. EC will be recategorized into Museum for the time being, and other packs are due for evaluation I guess... =/

I have one small suggestion: implement a (simple?) Restore functionality in either kk manager or a separate tool. The restore procedure seems easy to you, but it might seem complicated to others, especially as they might be frustrated by a broken release. In that case, you can always ask if reverting to the previous release dudes your problem. (You've spoiled us with the really easy updating).

well, strictly speaking, you can install the lower updater (like if you got R6, and want to get back to R5, you install the R4 to R5 updater) since that will more often than not include everything needed for the lower pack... I do not test that scenario, but in theory that should work just as well as updating. I'll look into making a more user friendly solution for restoring the backups the updater makes though when time allows. Thanks for the feedback :)

I think it's up to the user them self, install the new pack in a new folder or move the old install to an other folder and test the new one first. Not that hard to do, instead of making a lot of fuss when something might go wrong with a free fully modded game someone put a lot of effort in.

You all depend on me to keep fuckups to a minimum, so I can't very well blame y'all for being disappointed when something slips though, but appreciate it =D

The probleem with keeping a backup of the entire diet is that it gets very large, especially if you have studio data...
