FAQ (Patreon)

A lot of new people here over the past month, so let's do a FAQ (^_^)

I plan to update this as new general stuff rises in DM popularity.

First off, sorry for not having a high presence the past week, worked a lot behind the scenes and real life caught up with me all of a sudden, most of that is dealt with, so the behind the scenes stuff will come soon, and then I can return to packs :)

These should be relatively universal, and may be a good read for those new to BepInEx, aka HoneySelect 1 users. If you're used to Koikatsu already, this should be old hat :-)

Q: I ran the Updater in the launcher/KKManager and it deleted my files?! Why!?
A: Quite simply, there are several folders in the mods folder that are "managed", this basically means that files not expected to be there will be deleted on update. This is necessary for the update function to work, so it's not expected to be changed. If you want to add your own mods, add them literally anywhere else in the mods folder, like /mods/MyMods or something like that.

Q: I want to play the game in Japanese, do I have to delete all mods/vanillify the game?
A: No, you just need to open the launcher and select the japanese flag in the left hand side, you'll be asked if you would like to change the game language as well, this will change the translation config for you so that you don't have to make manual configurations or delete files.

Q: I want to get a pack, do I need to download all of then (R1, R2, R3 etc)?
A: If you're new, you only need the latest full pack, and you should be good, so if R5 is the newest, just get the full R5 pack. If you have the previous pack you may use the offline updater instead to save on download size.

Q: Downloading updates through the Launcher/KKManager is slow!
