Targa Florio 1932 (Patreon)
Content
hello hello everyone,
Welcome back to Targa Florio!
I hope you had a great New Year's eve! May this year bring wealth, health, and fortune to all of us!
Although that being said, I kinda started this year on a wrong foot lol. Got sick by the 2nd of Jan, bedridden for 3 days and then a week to recover to a normal-ish activity. But it's all good now XD. Probably it's because of the weather was being a bit extreme here. When it's hot, it can reach 35 degrees Celcius, but when it rain, it's a thunderstorms. Not exactly uncommon for tropical regions, but it doesn't mean our body is used to it as well! hahaha
Anyway, we have a different update today. Historic Sim Studios, who are specialized in historical content (obviously - duh), are collaborating with our team to create a 1932 theme for Targa Florio. Well I've said collaborating but it's all their hard work that made this happens lol. They did a very good job at it and it's looking great!
Here is the youtube video of the 1932 skin
it's a whole different kind of challenge to conquer this track on a gravel surface. And of course, I spun out on the 3rd corner into the grass XD
It is a skin AND new layout (since they had to remove some objects and modified the surface properties). So please extract the content of the zip into the main track folder, and it will showed up as additional layout and then you have to choose the 1932 skin.
and so, here is the Targa Florio 1932 skin
If you are interested in historical contents, you might want to check out the Historic Sim Studios page. If you are a historical car enthusiast, you're definitely in for a treat.
Meanwhile, as for the main track progress, Beni is fine tuning his preparation to scan the track surface. From his last experiment, I was amazed on the details and accuracy that we can extract when a photogrammetry is done right. I'm really looking forward to it!
As for myself, the work with the new terrain model is progressing steadily. We got the 5m resolution model sync and conformed to the 1m res model. Now I'm in the middle of tidying up, closing the gap that occurred during the process, etc.
After that, I need to start dividing it into smaller parts, and reduce its polycounts to a reasonable amount. still plenty of work but I want to get it done before we have the new scan data.
I will keep you guys posted about the progress!
and I guess, that's it for now!
Thank you always for your support.
Stay Healthy, stay safe, and keep on racing!
Best Regards,
Abulzz
