We got the all-clear! What's next: (Patreon)
Content
On Monday I got an email from Patreon support titled 'A note on your Patreon page.' I won't lie, considering we do more risque hentai kinks here, at first I feared the worst and thought this little experiment of mine was over. Instead, though, the email indicated that a few things on my Patreon fell outside of their guidelines, and they were asking me to remove them. I wasn't sure what exactly to delete, so while I had to do a relatively slow back-and-forth with the staff member (his job must be one of the weirdest things on earth, scrolling through hentai feeds on here to make sure they're within guidelines), I decided to play it extra safe by just deleting pretty much everything I'd posted here since I first started a dinky little Patreon page when the site was new, back in 2014.
Thankfully, the staff member was very patient and helpful, and they clarified what had been outside of the rules in the first place. Specifically, the problems were incest and underage content.
Now, while that's clarification, it still isn't really very specific, right? There were some leftover hentai pieces from when I used to draw the incest kink years ago, sure, but I'm unclear if scenarios like the Cho family or the Incredibles girls sharing a dick were considered incest, and that's unfortunately probably going to mean there won't be any scenarios in the future that could even possibly violate that rule. And as for underage: apparently, even if the intent is to age-up a character and make them older than in their canon, if canonically a character is underage, Patreon wants no part of that. Meaning drawing Violet from The Incredibles is against the rules if it's even remotely vague what age she is.
The bright side is, those are the only issues they raised, and that's all pretty easily addressed. The bottom line is, the page is okay, so the question is how we're going to handle things from now on.
I love this site and the tools it provides. I definitely want to keep doing this full time and making content for you guys six days a week for as long as I can. So I want to be as safe about it as possible while still making sure we get to keep making the same basic kind of things that we already love to do.
I think what I'd like to try is, from now on, having a Patron-exclusive Discord server where I'd post all my artwork.
I know that isn't going to be good news for all of you: if you don't have a Discord, I understand it'd be a bit of a pain to have to sign up for it and log in to it anytime you want to look at my Patreon works. But I honestly think that, while I'm going to make adjustments on the content I create just to be safe anyway, it would be by far even safer not to have ANY hentai posted directly to Patreon. I'll use it to make the money I need to keep doing this, and give you all exclusive access to my work before it goes public, but Patreon itself will be used just for the weekly polls and to make announcements.
But here's the key: this is just a thought for now. I want to take the next couple days to get you all's feedback and see if you agree with this. Personally, I think it's the best bet. It'll be more work for me, since I'll have to actively make sure once in a while that the people in the Discord are still paying Patrons, but I honestly believe it would be best to post everything off-site just so that we don't have to worry that something I post here thinking it's okay might arbitrarily be decided by the staff to be a violation of the rules.
The alternative is to re-upload everything that wasn't a violation of the rules the staff member brought up on Monday and keep doing things as usual, but with new rules about my content that'll apply regardless: no more rule 34 characters who are canonically underage; blacked and other raceplay will continue but without the hard raceplay dialogue just to be safe; and no scenes with biological family members at the same time (step-family relations will be in the cards).
So please leave your thoughts in the comments. I'll be around most of today to reply and be involved in the discussions.
