Work on character designs will go in this post!

First up, our main character, the babysitter. The outfit does a lot of unspoken character description- like what you wear to a job interview. What would most babysitters show up to the job in? A plain colored tee and jeans? Our babysitter character should embody a current/ 2020 young-adult girl. She is short. Is she more concerned with looking good/making a strong impression = wrong priorities or does she dress appropriately but in washed out colors visually suggesting "weakness"?

My mental image of what a babysitter looks like is a girl wearing jeans/leggings and a t-shirt though I like the crop top in the last example. The uggs are a nice touch!

i agree- i think the last one - crop top and jeans with uggs is probably an accurate look for a babysitter nowadays. i'm on the fence with the 1st one (jumper) basically because it's not what a babysitter should be wearing- it's more hipster modern and a "i choose to look stylish no matter the consequences" It puts out a little extra ditzyness to her character.

Yeah I feel like no girl showing up to a babysitting gig is dressing to attract anyone. Probably going for max comfort.

What about uggs leggings and an oversized sweater?

okayokayokok

that sounds good, i tried it to see but i don't think it will work. generally, i try to avoid oversized clothes though- they don't usually work well in comics. most comics use skin tight clothes/uniforms so they can easily communicate poses.

I like the more conservative outfit (jeans/tshirt). I think the babysitter would try to look less cute and more professional. I personally prefer the babysitter to be nervous/less confident. Transformations are more fun when they’re done on innocent/unsuspecting individuals imo. The babysitter shows up to the job and tries to make a good first impression, dressed in casual clothes.

I like the idea that she is inexperienced and overconfident, something of a know-it-all, especially concerning young children. As for as appearances go, I tight jeans/t-shirt look, maybe exposing her stomach. Maybe to give her more of 2020's look maybe give her some piercings?

I'm with the inexperience know it all, it goes with a lot of the trend of education these days. That completing a class makes you an expert and depending on the girls you can curtail it to meet the needs. If the girls are complacent, she tries to be the fun babysitter, but if the girls are terrors she's the strict seeking one that spouts out her knowledge.

In addition, i agree the pink dress is my favorite in terms of color but i think the jeans are better in terms of the versatility. Who knows, maybe that jumper may be on a tinier form of her in the near future
