I think I asked some like this on youtube, but I forget so I'll ask it again here (with more verbiage). I've got rough weights for battleship machinery plants, but can't find any for destroyers. However, it's obvious from the weights of battleship power-plants that they are much heavier than destroyer ones of the same era, both in absolute terms and in terms of weight/horsepower. So: What caused the difference in weight per horsepower between battleship and destroyer power-plants, and what percentage of a destroyer's displacement was devoted to her machinery? And what about cruisers?
