Hello everyone!

I'll be heading out to Australia on the 4th of June, arriving back on the 22nd, just in time to head to Tankfest! I've been busily prepared videos so you won't go without, but this does mean that basically all of June is going to be occupied by me being away from home.

Therefore, similar to the 2022 US trip, I'll be changing things up a bit for June's votes.
1) The May threads will close this weekend and the June ones will open early.
2) I will produce the first-of-the-month 5 minute guide on schedule, but the two Patreon voted Wednesday videos will be produced in July and August as the third Patreon selected video of the month (ie, you still get your regular choices in July and August, I'm simply deferring the June ones to then).
3) The July threads will open correspondingly a little late as I won't be home until the 26th June, so I'll open them then.
4) The Patreon Drydock will be spread over two weeks (25th June and 2nd July) as I'll be able to record one of them before I leave but obviously people will be adding their questions throughout June and I'll need to catch up with them when I get back.

Video regarding the schedule will going up on Friday (tomorrow). Any questions, let me know!

My grandfather was a carpenter aboard the USS Wissahickon (named for a small river in Pennsylvania), a subchaser during the Great War. According to him, he was the busiest man on the ship and spent the war trying to keep the wooden boat from sinking. He was afraid that if they ever fired their "popgun" (perhaps a 3 pounder), the boat would fall apart. What exactly did subchasers do and accomplish during World War I.

My father was a member of the commissioning crew of HMAS Diamantina. He was a leading signalman. The Navy offered all of the original crew a place aboard the paying out voyage from Sydney to Brisbane. Dad was going to participate but sickness prevented him. He told me that of all the ships he served aboard, the Diamantina was his favourite. We live about 6 hours from Brisbane and my husband and I will try to make it up there for your visit. Anyway the last time I visited the Diamantina was 1999 so it is high time. My father was Donald Ross Munro, although his nickname in the Navy was Darby. Keith Smith, who was one of the signalman interviewed in your Scrapiron Flotilla video was one of Dad's best friends. I think they first met at HMAS Cerberus when they trained as signalman together. I admit to having a few tears when I first saw him appear. He was always Uncle Keith to us. Dad died in February 2010 just short of his 90th birthday so this was another reason I particularly enjoyed this video. It brought back all the stories he used to tell us. Thank you.
