There's a missing timestamp and question: 22:18 is for the Australian N2 cruisers. 28:24 is when the Donitz persuasion roll question starts.

Dry Dock Question: How do you actually hit with a torpedo? The sea is so vast (the amount of sea with ship there is much smaller than the one without), distances are large and the torpedoes are slow and often visible, making it possible to dodge compared with shells or bombs. It would be great if you could do smt similar to a naval gunnery video on torpedoes. And sorry if it was mentioned before, I am fairly new to the channel.

Quick fun question. The 1960’s era spy spoof show “Get Smart” had an episode called “Ship of Spies” that had the hero’s attempting to recover the plans for the “Nuclear Amphibian Battleship.” Leaving aside the show, which is fun if you have never seen it, is the concept of a “Nuclear Amphibian Battleship” completely silly or just modestly silly?

That might indeed be an interesting topic. To answer in a general way: You calculate the lead using distance, torpedo speed and target speed and some geometry. Usually with the aid of a simple computer and then you launch and hope the target keeps a steady course. Evading a torpedo is off course possible. Seeing it coming will imo be dependent on various factors like sea and lighting conditions, the exact design of the torpedo (an electric torpedo leaves no bubble trail) and allertness and number of lookouts. I'm guessing most ships either do evasive manuovres as a matter off course (zig-zaging) or start doing them when they suspect torpedoes in the water. And then there is hydrophones.

Completely silly. Since more and more countries ban nuclear energy, you would face ever growing limitation as to where you are allowed to travel. Additionaly, some countries tax vehicles for usage of their road network based on weight class. Given that truck companies allready complain about the hight of those fees for a lowly 40 ton semi-trailer, it stands to reason, that the fees for an amphibian battleship will outright bankrupt you.

Could you go into detail on the pink submarine USS Seadragon?
