The anime is currently at episode 1023 but by the time you guys catch up it’ll be in around the late 1030’s or in the first few 1040’s.

When you get married and have kids your bound to see that kind of stuff @lycan.. I agree big mom did not get enough support especially with being a little more gentle with other people. Then she probably had some abandonment issues since her parents just left her and never came back

lycan I love your theory about Big mom as I agree, I think mother carmel is controlling her and is the cause of her hunger pangs too, I think something weird happened when big mom ate mother carmel and somehow mother carmel's soul became infused /joined with big moms. these past few episodes also support my theory since when Big mom does not have her devil fruit powers like you said she is nice and innocent, so we can assume when she has her homies and devil fruit powers they are controlling her or making her evil because deep down mother carmel is apart of her.

This episode made me like big mom even more.She's just a child with a beautiful dream. Also, There is so much psychological depth in her character if you dig into it.

To give a better reason as to why Luffy can't just leave the ring by putting Haki on his neck, there are two valid reasons. 1: Even if this was a valid solution, he would either be leaving old man Hyo in the ring to die alone, or pulling him out of the ring to his death, both of which Luffy would not do. 2: If Luffy put Haki on his neck he could stop the blades from cutting his neck BUT that only stops him from dying in that moment. The blades will keep applying pressure on his neck until he can get the collar off, and since he can't take the collar off on his own, eventually Luffy's Haki will run out and the blades will cut his head off. Just because he blocks it for a moment with Haki, it wouldn't necessarily disable the collar. I think of it like a bear trap. Once the trap has been sprung, the jaws will keep applying pressure until the trap is completely reset. Also side note, the reason why someone may have said that it explodes was because Queen said it was based on the collars that the Celestials use on their slaves, and those collars do explode as we saw in Sabaody.

I think the second point isn't right, because when the blades hit they'll face something hard and either break or damage themselves, that would be fine, but the first point is true

I wasn’t with your theory at first Lycan.. but after rewatching this episode, and hearing your discussions,it really does line up lol Caramel was an actual witch who didn’t care about anyone else, the kinda attitude we’ve constantly seen from Big Mom. Oda’s the best at making his fans think 😂😂

Well it does blow up into bits and pieces at the same time so not much of a lock. Wouldn't expect a bear trap with dynamite to keep holding on to the bear after the explosion. But i also can't confirm that so who knows?

It's not a spoiler if it's already been shown. Luffy has also referenced Rayleigh's name multiple times when trying to practice.

Big L for Heisenberg on this one. Would have been cool if you had just let the next episode reveal to them Rayleigh did the same thing at the auction house. I mean isn't what you all want their reactions? Here's a little advice for the future. If they haven't realized something yet & there is an upcoming episode that will reveal that for them anyways, just let the episode reveal it to them bro.

@Ravenf it is a spoiler. There's nothing until the next episode/chapter that ever implies it was Ryou Rayleigh used at the auction house. Not a single reader realized that until the chapter reveals that. It's just been so long for you that you've forgotten when you learned this yourself and you're just now assuming in hindsight this is something you've known all along. Also it's arguably a spoiler as episode 946 reveals all this anyways.

Yes it definitely exploded then the saws eject out and chop off the head. Also luffys major weakness is blades, cuts etc.
