Yeah it's important to remember that Momo can transform, but the artificial devil fruit that he ate was not a Smile, it was made by Vegapunk, and the Smiles are Caesar's flawed attempts at copying it. Considering that Vegapunk's allows Momo to fully transform, whereas the Smiles only have a 10% chance of even working, if they don't work you still get the curse and are forced to smile forever, and when it does work you get disfigured with a partial animal transformation permanently.

Back in fishman island pekoms and baron tamago arrived in fishman island a few days later after luffy took down hordy. If luffy hadnt protected fishman island from hordy. Those two would've taken care of hordy anyways so big mom basically would've protected fishman island. The qouta for the candies would have also been met cuz luffy would've never eaten those candies.
