The curse Megumi fought against was extremely more powerful than the last one. At the time he had no confidence in himself. Also these brothers tie in majorly with the story.

Lycan what are you talking about? These aren’t small fry villains the brothers and the one Megumi fought are Special Grade curses. The point is our trio of 1st years are in the big leagues now basically,by keeping up with and/or outright beating special grades now.
