The alien looking thing was the guy who attacked Asakusa the first time, the one who can change other people’s faces. It’s been stated a couple of times that he “doesn’t seem human”. While it’s true that this doesn’t seem like a good ending of a season, it’s the fact that the arc after Captain Hague’s death has a lot of action that could go on for 20+ more episodes, so that’s a good place to stop lowkey

I think the moon at the end was in reference to the anime/manga Soul Eater. Which is another great series from this creator.

The moon is in all of the authors works. It was in the manga B. Ichi but as Soul Eater was more popular, its mostly know from that. So its a dope Easter egg
