Clothing & Early 2021 Plans (Patreon)

It's been over a month since last update, but Naughty Sandbox is still alive and kicking, and here's some dev plans & info for January. 

Between Patreon's anti-nudity rules (Patreon still warns me that even the above pics may contain nudity or adult content, so apologise for the censoring on some of the screenshots there, even though they were all wearing clothes!) and my ambition to create a fully featured character customizer, I've started work on some clothing for Naughty Sandbox grills. My plan is to have an outfit design suite which lets players layer clothing to create unique outfits, with each clothing item having several customization options for color and miscellaneous features, similar to the Accessories system.

The Accessories Manager will be merged in with clothing and will become something like an Outfit Manager, where whole outfits can be saved, named, and swapped between girls. Gonna probably be quite a major undertaking so I'm not sure if it will be in the next release, but the next release will certainly contain some rudimentary way to put clothing onto the characters. 

Currently completed clothing items are -

• Japanese Ultrasmall Thong
• Loose Tube Top
• Leggings
• High Waist Spats

I'll have to post proper screenies of these in a Private post soon, since it seems like the Patreon censorship bot has been turned up to 11.

As anyone who's played a game with layered clothing options will know, clipping is the bane of such clothing systems and there's  not really a bunch of fixes for this. Probably some clipping is inevitable, and I'm going focus on variety rather than making each any every clothing item compatible with eachother, but there will be a few things to try mitigate clipping where possible.

The idea is to have a fully skintight layer, which socks, tights, stockings, bras, panties & body forming leotards and body suits will be categorized under. Any other clothing should be able to be layered over  this layer with minimal clipping, such as tight shorts, tight tops, etc. 

For clothing which may occupy the same layer but the player still wants to combine, such as combining tights with panties (underwear layer) or shorts with leggings (outerwear layer) I'm gonna be designing a system where the clothing mesh can be slightly inflated to appear over or under another mesh which is of very similar thickness. I've done some brief tests with this and it appears to work very well on simple clothing meshes, so I have some hopes for it. 

Some peeps have been asking about a new build release. I'm going to try and release some test builds on Discord this month, which may make it to the Patreon if they're stable enough, but I've upgraded Naughty Sandbox to a new Unreal Engine version which always comes with some teething problems.
