I've been continuing work on sculpting and texture painting, paying some special attention to the feet. 

I'm hoping to make some of the nicest looking feet in videogame history if I can! This is my progress on them.

Going to definitely have some feetplay scenes in Naughty Sandbox, and also massaging. 

With feet and hands, I'm going to be making secondary normal maps and blendshapes to simulate the creasing that happens when you curl your toes or ball your hands into fists, so that animation will look really natural and realistic.

For creating these feet, they were polygon modeled from scratch and then sculpted on for more detail. The textures are a combination of scanned photographs, procedural and hand painted skin mottling and vein textures, and then further high resolution procedural surface textures for the different types of skin! This workflow helps to create a look of layering and translucency.

The different skin types are the thing that gives the most realism to the model, as each part has a slightly different texture and softness. For example, the shiny and tight skin at the back of the heel, and the more velvety skin on the sole have very different attributes. I'm hoping this comes across well to people who like feet and can see the love I put into them.

I'm hoping to have the base mesh art completed to a beta stage by the end of this month, and then I'm going to be working on a build release. I've seen other creators I follow post nice roadmap diagrams to show people where they're at in the dev stage, I might start doing this too for my short term goals so people can have an idea of what to expect.
