Hey awesome patrons! It’s James Introcaso, your ARCADIA Managing Editor and MCDM’s RPG Line Developer. Thank you so much for the amazing response to Issue #1. I’m enjoying the conversations folks are having about the content here on Patreon, in the MDCM Discord, and on our subreddit.

You’re not just talking about the issue. You made dope stuff! Specifically, many wonderful GMs out there made a bevy of new mounts inspired by Willy Abeel’s “Jumping on Mounted Combat” article. Here’s a few of my favorites from Reddit:

If you’re interested in making your own ARCADIA-style mounts, check out this guide from pepper-jk (which also includes a link to their Camel, Elk, Mastiff, Pony, and Riding Horse Mounts). You’ll need that guide if you use erikeu4account’s potion of dire transformation, which turns any Medium or smaller creature into a Large mount. And if you’re running the “Rally at Rakshar” encounter from Willy’s article, g0dxmode has you covered with a beautiful battlemap.

The community creations don’t stop there. PolarSuccess shared this incredible 2D miniature for SAM created by Printable Heroes from Leon Barillaro’s “The Workshop Watches” adventure. Print it out or upload it to a VTT to give SAM a sweet new look.

ARCADIA #1 is also inspiring some great discussions that are helping GMs and players everywhere up their game. Sadie Lowry’s “Uqaviel, the Recreant” article got the MCDM community talking about how cool it is when heroes become villains in this Reddit thread.

If ARCADIA inspired you to create, we want to know. For more awesome creations and to share your stuff, join the MDCM Discord and our subreddit.

All right. Time to keep cranking on Issue #2!

This is exciting! Spotlighting community fanwork/homebrew is something that really exemplifies the spirit of Arcadia, I think.

Thank you for showing off my mount!

Bravo. Just like Colville once said to Mercer, take what the community creates and feed it to itself.

Seb Jones

Treat good artists fair and they make good art, what a concept. World benefits once again from the mind that is MC.

Greatness from start to finish! Will be running The Workshop Watches soon. Not sure how likely I will be to use the mounts anytime soon but certainly had a lot of fun reading about them. The Titan Heart subclass was really well put together (maybe OP though?). Either way, wish there was some way to create this class as well as any future subclasses from Arcadia using D&D Beyond. Is there any way to partner up with them somehow in the future to make it happen?

I absolutely love this! Can't wait to tweak the Workshop adventure to match up with my group's PC levels and put them through it

I finally took a look at the first issue of Arcadia, and I was absolutely blown away! The experience brought back memories of when I used to excitedly flip through the pages of GameInformer as a kid, and I felt that same giddiness as I read through Arcadia. The MCDM team has done amazing work, the articles and the artwork were breathtaking and evocative, and most importantly made me want to immediately run my next session. It's abundantly clear the time and care that went into this project. Reading through The Workshop Watches, I was immensely taken by how charming and unique the concept was. The branching outcomes for S.A.M. were great! I of course also loved Uqaviel, such an awesome character! What really pleased me though and made me want to write to you guys though was the Raskar NPCs table in the Jumping on Mounted Combat article. It was really cool to see the NPCs referred to with pronouns as opposed to just gender/species. It was awesome to see the views Matt talked about in his Sociology of D&D video represented here. Keep up the fantastic work, I look forward to more : )

I can finally gauge for the moose mount I have in my game! Thank for establishing a type of precedent

WHat a great idea to link all the community creations here under the issue. Thanks for that James.

Reading through the issues (finally) and leaving a few comments as I go. For the Titan Heart sorcerer, you probably should have that it is a sorcerer subclass in a subheading. That would make it easier searching through issues. You have to get into the article to find that it is for sorcerers. It is cool to be able to go Size Large. A pity it is only a sorcerer that can do so :P Cool little subclass. I like the spells, but they have pretty epic names for minor 1st level spells. I would be picturing something totally different than a few minor effects with spell titles like 'Cataclysm' (which deals psychic damage), 'Glacier' and 'Quake'. :D

I love the cross-over coverage here. A retainer for "Strongholds & Followers" for the Titan Heart subclass is an awesome idea.

Also got to note, the Table of Contents page looks gorgeous. The mount article is very cool and how all animal companions should have been dealt with. This side of the game really lacking in 5E D&D and the one subclass that gets one sucks at it. There should be a baseline for Animal Companions. I think feats would have handled it better in the 5E game. Thanks.
