YO FOLKS~! Here's what we've been up to this week~
10/10 weekly update:
Hi floofs! <3 Made excellent progress on the TFOL v2 code rewrite last week! Finished 15 cards in Codecks, and about that many are left to go. Into the home stretch now! :}
This week I expect to finish the remaining cards. Then Carrot and I need to do a couple rounds of collaborative playtesting to make sure things are looking spiffy throughout the game.
Have a lovely rest of week! <3

On my end, I've been having QUITE A WEEK with revamping my workflow stuff. It's helping out since I'm able to get some work done without exacerbating the wrist/pinky, BUT DANG IS IT NEW and kinda pulling teeth sometimes lmao. I'm straight up like, 4-5x slower with it, and have to now put brain power into all the basic functions I've had completely muscle-memory xD But I'm gettin' a bit better.
Artists get problems with their hands all the FRICKIN time, and the kinds of solutions are pretty interesting.
For me, pinky hotkeys are straight brutal, and 50-60% of the hotkeys I hit. So my solution is to either, remap ALL of those hotkeys across several programs, and relearn, OR I could stop using hotkeys and go slow-mode (kill me), OR I can get a new device for hotkeys.
I've got a few friends (Vixel does this too!) who use a video game controller as a hotkey hub. SO I picked up reWASD, and an xbox elite controller. The D-Pad and Analog are all mapped to functions, and the shoulder buttons toggle a different set of functions for D-Pad/Analog. PLUS, I've got some buttons behaving differently if I hold it vs if I just tap it.
There's been a lot of breakthroughs with this workflow. The press/hold feature is genius, and really intuitive for certain functions. BUT there's also A LOOOT of difficulty, a lot of mis inputs, a lot of getting used to xD! I'm only on day 2, so I'll get it.

Anywho work wise, I've been working on more mice! We need some more generic designs, so that's what this round of critters have been. There's another 8 portraits I did. SURELY BUT SLOWLY with that controller xD.
Other than that and some writing, I've just been spending a lot of time doodling and getting used to the workflow. A bit of 3D here and there too.
Here's a redwall doodle!
And some bun!
And a snail!
OK! That's it for me. I'll be fuckin' around more getting this workflow down this week. I think I've got some sound design for some act 3 shenanigans to tackle too.
That's it from us! See ya folks!
