Starting with A Word from Vixel!

8/8 weekly update:
Hey floofs, happy new week! <3
Short update from me this time. We had some hiccups getting our monthly build out, so I focused on that last week! I'm back to the v2 project this week to keep pushing it forward! Will keep yall posted. ^^

On my end I've basically finished the Angel 3D loop voted on last month :> IT'S PRETTY SAUCY~! It became a bit more involved of a "short loop" than I was expecting, but it was still pretty quick to pump out :> I'll be posting it soon so keep an eye out!

Other than that, I've been tackling some writing content for TFOL. 

I'm at a point in the development, where we put a few things off as like "We will figure them out later!" - but now is kind of that time, and it's some bigger-money things that kinda need to get fleshed out before I do other things. BUT, I want them to be good decisions, and it's been kinda a bit of a block trying to come up with the right answer xD

On one hand, they are important decisions, so I do want them to be solid. At least, 90% solid.

On the other hand, the more these hold me up, the more other things they delay, and it's annoying xD.

One of the things I realized is that I feel like I've gotten a bit more "precious" with the decisions as the years have gone on. It was one thing when the game hadn't been out too long, and we made a large change somewhere. But with the given time, and what with our early releases, I kinda feel like things are set in stone. 

Like how crazy would it be if we changed Penny's name right now? Might feel weird.

But at the same time, the game isn't done remotely, and no part of it is "officially finished" - so I should be still designing with the intent that it might not be final. This has been a good thing to remember. And it's super strange that something like that can become a problem LATER even though you already knew it. But, that's the art life really. As time goes on, perspective changes, and it's good to zoom out and remember the foundations.

One thing I want to do is settle on a Visual Motif for TFOL. Specifically for the Act 4 parts. And that motif in theory, would be present throughout a lot of the designs in the areas of Act 4. So I can't quite DO those assets until the design is done xD! So it's back to designing symbols. etc. This is an example of one that IS NOT a good idea to "revamp later" - but it is one of many "road blocks" that have been tripping me up lately.

Fortunately, after a solid introspection session earlier today, I think I'm able to tackle some of these decisions more fruitfully :> Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

I've been enjoying the story so far. It has a nice fuzzy feeling to it with some abstract mystery with the runes. Don't be afraid to change stuff. It will probably be for the better in the long run!

If something needs changed for the betterment of the game I'm all for it. Just as long as you don't change Penny's name! Its the best in the game!

Oof, you guys clearly forgot about Texas Penal Code § 38.12(a) in which it clearly states changing Penny's name is punishable by 6 months headpats. I didn't make the rules I'm sorry.
