Hey guys, I realized recently that I've been a little quiet lately and even though things have been moving forward at a reasonable and steady pace I feel like I should be more transparent regarding the things that you guys signed up for.

First of all, I'd better open with some bad news. Or should I open with GOOD news so that you're softened up for the bad news? No, because then you'll be brought down by the bad news and leave with a sour note. So yes, bad news! Hooray! I'm afraid, at least for the immediate future, I'm going to suspend the rewards for $10 and $20 tiers. Now DON'T PANIC if you've signed up before this happens, as all pledges before the change will still be processed and completed. The only change is that anyone signing up for $10 or $20 from THIS POINT ON will not be receiving any art.

This is due to Jess being just completely overwhelmed by requests to the point that facing the commissions is like climbing a ladder that keeps getting taller. We need to be able to have a fresh start and suspending the perks, at least until the ladder is climbed, is pretty much the only way to accomplish this.

However! This is where the fun stuff comes in! There's a power vacuum in the tiers now, and I'd like YOUR help in figuring out what to fill it with! I have a few ideas (a badge club where you get sent a new pin every 3 months or so is one Idea I had) but getting your feedback is one of the ways this series has kept it's consistent quality, so I'm open to your suggestions!

Otherwise, aside from an infuriatingly force-fluxed schedule (that includes tons of appointments, school stuff for Seth who's beginning elementary next week and starting a new medication) preventing me from working on anything other than Pokemon Journeys and Calling It Nows, leaving no time for movie scripts or Let's Plays, things are going pretty well and steady! Thanks for your patience and more good things will be coming soon. Now I'll just leave the rest with Jess as she has a few further details regarding the art stuff.

This is an art update from Jess: Hi all!

Art has been slow. Too slow, and I sincerely apologize. After getting sick then injuring my back, it's made it very difficult for me to sit for prolonged periods of time, so I've had to spread out drawing time that was already limited.

But at the end of this month my second job will (finally!!) be over and I can put those hours into art and my goal is to get everything caught up ASAP.

Here are a few FAQS:

Q: When will my art be ready?

A: It really depends on where you are on my list (art is being completed by first come first serve), so PLEASE feel free to message us here on patreon and I'll be glad you give you an update!

Q: I signed up for one of the art tiers and haven't been contacted by anyone about my request. How do I let you know what I want?

A: I try to message people as soon as they sign up, but due to patreon alerts sometimes falling into the void I can miss when people need to be contacted. If I haven't messaged you please message us here on patreon to let us know!

Q: I was on an art tier, but for whatever reason I stopped before it was featured on an episode. Will that still happen?

A: Yep! No matter when you signed up or signed off, when your art is finished it will feature it on at least one episode, and be commented on if it was a $20 tier.

Thanks for your kind words regarding my art and I'm glad I've been able to make you guys smile!

Totally understandable. The list of Patrons at the end on an episods is so big and I can imagine the art for each one taking quite a while anyway... As an idea for a new reward... have you considered doing episode requests? While I totally understand your desire to do them in order, there may be some that people would love to see covered but are way back in the reaches of AG/DP/BW/XY.

Why not have it so every week your $20 paterons get to ask you one question, and that question gets put in a metaphorical hat to be drawn at random and answered at the end of the episode? That way you can still thank the individual pateron, they get a chance to know you better, and the amount of work required to do it is significantly less than what you need to do now. Plus by making it random you don't have to worry about people missing out because the backlog gets too long, or people only having the chance to just ask one question for the entire time they've pledged.

Jess, I could care less if I received my art in a month or a year, your health is more important.

Suede, only thing I can think of for replacement rewards is something like Linkara’s sponsored review...which you’ve sort of done.

MysticSamurai1983

Makes me glad I signed up when I did then. Whew! *wipes away the sweat now*

So that's why $20 reward hasn't come. Understandable to say the least. Honestly, I choose the $20 to give Suede a little boost to the $1000 stretch mark. The artwork reward was a constellation prize. However, after looking into my bank account to determine strain of a Nintendo Switch Online fee, I was actually debating if I should downgrade $20 tier back to $10. However, I don't know what happens if you downgrade a tier before you got your reward, so I haven't done it yet. But now that you have explained your situation, I feel a bit more comfortable to downside (though not immediately if the new $20 reward is up my alley).

In terms of rewards, I think a co-sponsored review be a good idea especially since it would take forever to get to the later series that newer fans are not aware of. Perhaps the Pokémon Chronicles (but that would require more continuity stuff). That could be the new $20 tier given the time and effort. For $10 tier, I don't know for sure. Maybe a livestream of you editing the videos? Or maybe Professor Uncle Suede answering questions?

I like the idea of episode requests that a few people have mentioned. I'm not sure how you would work it but there are so many episodes of Pokemon I think that a lot of people are interested in hearing your opinion on their favorite episode. You could do this with the movies too. I'm also interested in hearing your opinion on various Pokémon games...but I understand that reviewing those is more time consuming so you might not want to take requests on something like that or a let's play type thing. Another thought I've had is that I really liked it when you did that Pokémon Table Top RPG game over on The Loading Crew. Not sure how you would tie that into Patron but I'm just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what works.

You "couldn't" care less...yes I'm being a grammar nazi, I don't get how could care less became a thing...no I'm not anal-retentive, you all are!

Top Patrons get to partake in a tabletop RPG with Suede?

So I signed up a few days ago (between the 9th and 17th) do I still get art? or no? I don't really mind either way, but would like to know.

Gelli Elfson

After Jess finally finishes all the current requests, will they hopefully resume one day?

SuperBunnyBun

How much do I need to donate to replace the flying purple kitty that used to follow you around?

I just became a patron. I don't mind waiting for art or your videos. You guys work hard so it is no biggie. :)
