You know, if it weren't for the fact that YouTube has a monopoly on internet videos in the western world, I'm convinced they would drive themselves into the ground the way they run things.

Sorry to hear that, Suede. YouTube can be a real ***** sometimes.

Really sorry this is happening to you Suede. :(

I'm sorry this sucks so much, but maybe doing the all-at-once approach will be better in the long wrong As it is, we've got your back, dude

This is the thing though Suede, ShoPro are following the orders of Nintendo/Game Freak/Pokémon Company. They're doing this to you, because "they" are afraid that Nintendo etc. will take legal action on them, it's a huge hodgepodge of legality and red tape. All in all, it's best to try and not entice them to do this, by well not doing this sort of thing at all, at least not with clips of their work. Yeah, they're being money hungry, but that's what it comes down to sadly.....Money. ShoPro may feel for some reason that they're losing out, meaning that Nintendo etc. may feel like they're losing out and the vicious cycle continues. The whole "Free Use" thing, does have legal limitations as mentioned on it's fine print, which nobody on the internet really reads let's face it, but that things companies like ShoPro, Nintendo etc. will continue to express their legal rights to protect their product. I can imagine this is VERY frustrating as you're reaching the end of the journey and the fact that they could hit Vimeo as well is also sadly a possibility, though I am trying not to jinx anything. (no pun intended) Hopefully your journey will be completed without too much fuse, but as it stands, maybe you should abandon your plans to re-do the movies, if ShoPro gets all up in your business with the TV episodes, I'm sure it will just worse, much worse with the movies, especially if the various distributors around the world get involved, such as Toho for Japan, Miramax on the movies they still currently own, Viz Media etc. By making yourself known and what you do, you make yourself an open target for these copyright holders, sadly a catch 22 about expressing your love for a copyrighted product. :(

Hang in there, dude.

What a mess! Have you had any trouble with Calling it Now as well, or just the Pokémon reviews?

Planclops23

This is awful! I hope everything works out, man.

It's interesting, I'm currently also watching YuGiOh the Abridged Series and I've just hit the section in which they get meta and the villain is 4Kids and copyright law. And Joey pointing out that YGO wouldn't be as popular had it not been for the fans of TAS. I know Pokemon itself is a monster (no pun intended) franchise and I can see why YT is getting fussy. I don't like it one bit but I get it.
