I would like to note that the anime itself never mentions the Mushroom Parasite in the entire series based on the Pokédex Entry. It's one of those times where the anime tones down the implication, at least in the English dub. I heard that they never used the D word for Rotomdex's entry on Mimikyu, even though it was clear that anime Mimikyu's true form has the same effect as the game version.
