NO flowers from a convenience market. The only store near us is Safeway. I would get so 😡 at Safeway flowers. It just said to me “Hey I didn’t think about you until I was almost home and this is all there was”. But since we are both grown ups - I politely asked him to stop doing that as it just makes for a tense evening. He was relieved and I didn’t have to think about it. We agreed that everyday is Valentine’s. After a few years he surprised me with a huge custom bouquet 💐 from a florist and it was spectacular. He understood at that moment what I meant and he realized it’s not the gift it’s the thought and planning we want. We are married 28 years this April and we got take out for dinner this year from a tiny local struggling restaurant and it was perfect.
